by SmilinRedHead on Nov. 16, 2008 at 6:09 AMOoooh, yeah...those cinnamon dough ornaments (above post) are wonderful. We've made ornaments with them before. It's really fun to roll out the dough and trace your child's handprint; then you have sweet little cinnamon hands to hang around; they smell fantastic and make really great gifts too. Children can use little cookie cutters to cut shapes out of the dough. If you wrap your cinnamon ornaments carefully at the end of the season and store them in ziplock bags or a tight seal container they should keep too. Actually, we made a handprint of my son back when he was 3 years old and have kept it hanging in the kitchen ever since...and that was back in 1998!

We did the cinnamon ornaments this year too. We also did some of the glass ornaments with popcorn in them. I went and bought a bunch of the ornaments. I opened a bag of un-popped microwave popcorn and wiped all the kernals off so it doesn't get the inside too greasy. Then you put about 20-30 kernals in each ornament, put one in a paper bag and put it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes (you just need to listen). Then you can decorate the outside with glitter glue or whatever you want. I also put a little glitter inside and shook it around and it coats the inside. I hope this all made sense. We are also putting tinsel inside the ornaments. I'm also thinking about doing maybe feathers or beads or something like that.

It was way cheap! I got the ornaments at Hobby Lobby but I think that you can pretty much get them at any craft store. I'm excited!
