So we have set a date for October 11, 2008. We want a small and casual wedding but I wanted it near the water. We were thinking of just doing it on the beach but then we had to worry about city permits, chairs, crowds, etc etc. So after a bit of research I thought of this gorgeous restaurant that we have eaten at. I am absolutely obsessed with the ocean & lighthouses so when I found out this particular place hosted weddings & receptions I was thrilled! We went down there today to talk with the planner. Here is the front of the establishment:

The actual ceremony will take place in one of the outdoor "coves" right in front of the water. They will simply move the tables that are there now and our small wedding party will stand right in front of the glass. If you know of the cruise liner Queen Mary you can see her in the background of the harbor:

After the ceremony we will have a sit down lunch out on the patio. They will have fire pits set up if it is chilly outside but I definately want to eat outside regardless! Now we need to shop for a cake and my dress.... altho I plan to try to drop another 30 pounds before October and get a dress closer to the date. **Edit** I had a revelation as we were driving back from Long Beach. It was so exciting that I slapped Orion on the arm hard! Here it is: My centerpieces will be round bubble fish bowls with either Beta fish or goldfish in them!!!! I am a gosh darn genius*****
