Anna Duggar Gets Called Out for Controversial 'Conspiracy' Post
Many 19 Kids and Counting fans have long questioned Anna Duggar's controversial decision to stand by her man, Josh Duggar, amid his shocking sexual abuse scandal. Now, they are slamming the mom of six for spreading what they believe is a crazy conspiracy theory online. It all started when Anna took to Instagram to share a cryptic video.
Anna seemed to be hinting that Big Tech is manipulating people.
The drama unfolded when Anna posted a strange video showing only a close-up of her iPhone. She is then seen asking Siri the president's age. Siri responds by quoting the age of Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. Anna captioned her post, "@apple What's up with this?!" She seemed to be hinting that Apple was up to something sinister.
Critics believe Anna isn't happy with the election results.
Anna's very conservative-leaning family members are predominantly Republicans. Her father-in-law, Jim Bob, was a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, and her brother-in-law, Jed, just made a failed attempt to become a state rep, also on the Republican ticket.
In addition, some of Duggars have openly publicized their support of President Donald Trump on social media. Jana, for example, shared a video showing a "Trump 2020" design cut into the grass on the family lawn. So it's not a stretch to think that Anna's strange Apple conspiracy theory is a result of her disappointment over Trump's loss in the election.
Turns out, it was just a software glitch.
Anna went into her own Instagram comments section and updated her followers that Apple fixed the issue within 10 minutes of her posting. But she later added, stirring the pot even more, "I'm still confused why they had it set up with that answer in the first place? Any ideas?"
One follower was quick to snap back: "This is obviously just an error with the software that runs Siri. You really think there is someone at Apple who designates answers to these questions? No, it’s AI and sometimes the computer makes incorrect assumptions when it is searching for your question."
This isn't the first politically charged post from Anna.
Although Anna chose to remain mum on her favored presidential candidate when she shared a post on Election Day urging people to get out and vote, she has revealed hints of her political allegiances in the past. Back in February while attending the Daytona 500, she shared a sweet photo of her baby daughter, Maryella, that was accompanied by grainy video footage of an Air Force One plane on the runway. She captioned the post with the hashtag #MAGA, a clear sign she supports Trump.
Anna's post is being slammed with negative comments.
After an election season fraught with division, Anna's followers are not happy with her decision to stir up more political drama. She's been accused of "clutching at straws" and having a "hidden agenda."
One commenter urged her to "stop spreading propaganda to the thousands of Trump supporters that follow you — they’ll believe anything." Many others encouraged her to move on and accept Trump's defeat. "Please have some class and respect for Democrats when your candidate blatantly loses," one critic wrote. "Conspiracies ain’t cute."
