Spirit Halloween is expanding with a new, more joyful concept — Spirit Christmas. The retailer revealed it is opening 10 locations in the northeast, including one in Pennsylvania, as Christmas-themed stores.
A spokesperson told CNBC the company’s flagship store in Mays Landing, New Jersey, will open on October 18, while the other nine locations will open in early November. Spirit Halloween temporarily pops up every fall in abandoned storefronts for the Halloween season, selling spooky decor, costumes, and party supplies.
“Spirit Christmas is a new concept for us, and we’re hopeful it will resonate with our customers,” a spokesperson told CNBC. “Our goal is to create a festive retail experience that captures the spirit of the season, much like we do for Halloween.”
The new site reports the stores will sell inflatables and decorations and offer activities including photos with Santa and letter-writing to the North Pole. The 10 locations will act as a test for the company, CNBC said. Other inventory will include stocking stuffers, apparel, and fun gifts, according to the retailer’s website.
The Spirit Christmas locations include:
- Crystal Mall in Waterford, Connecticut
- Market Place at Brick in Brick Township, New Jersey
- Consumer Square in Mays Landing, New Jersey
- Colonie Center in Albany, New York
- Chestnut Plaza in Poughkeepsie, New York
- Faunce Corner Shopping Center in North Dartmouth, New Hampshire
- Willow Ridge in Marlton, New Jersey
- The Plaza at Woodbridge in Woodbridge, New Jersey
- Sayville Plaza in Bohemia, New York
- Mill Creek Mall in Erie, Pennsylvania
