Fans can always count on Drew Barrymore to keep it real. The actress turned talk show host let her Instagram followers in on her messy secret on Tuesday, showing a video of her cluttered and disorganized bedroom (and what happened when she finally cleaned it up). This looks a little too familiar to our own homes …
An overwhelmed-looking Drew shared the reel on her Instagram Stories.
Drew cruised through her sleeping space, filming the mountains of mess she had accumulated. "Show me your room before and after you clean it," she captioned the start of the clip before adding, "I'll go first."
The Drew Barrymore Show host panned the camera around and showed off chairs and desks simply buried under stacks of clutter.
She had her work cut out for her.
Before cutting off the video, she showed fans a glimpse of her bathroom, which was also badly in need of some spring cleaning.
Drew definitely knew the big reveal wasn't going to be easy because she hilariously put her hand up to her mouth and bit her knuckle, showing her exhaustion and maybe even a touch of embarrassment.
There wasn't a single surface that wasn't covered in stuff.
The chaotic video showed that not even Drew's bed was safe, as it was surrounded by magazines and what looks like boxes of product samples and scripts.
Although her bedroom gives us a bit of anxiety, it seemed as if Drew was totally over the mess and ready to push her sleeves up and get to work.
The 'after' look was totally worth it.
Once the "before" switched over to the "after," it was clear that Drew had been hard at work.
Not only was the mess gone, but she'd also changed out of the T-shirt she'd been wearing and looked like she'd showered and done her hair before putting on a pretty gray sweater.
We feel seen by Drew's candid video.
Even though she obviously has more space in her home than we could ever dream of, we're just as guilty of letting our bedrooms turn into a bit of a dumping ground for the rest of the house.
Seeing that Drew's bedroom, even with all of her resources and money, can still get away from her makes us feel a bit better about our own disorganization — and maybe that was her intention in sharing the video.
