Toddler parents will always learn at least one lesson the hard way. Whether that is disrupting the child’s sleep schedule and feeling their wrath all night long or leaving them alone near a puddle for more than one second, toddlers will undoubtedly show their parents their curiosity knows no bounds.
West Virginia mom Ashtyn Noelle certainly learned that lesson when she awoke to her toddler covered in a mysterious black substance in the middle of the night, reported Newsweek.
Noelle posted a gallery of pictures of her sleeping daughter covered in Just For Men’s mustache and beard dye, which the young tot mistook for lotion. The dark dye is smeared all over her face and arms as she peacefully snoozes.
The text overlay simply reads, “POV your toddler wakes up in the middle of the night and helps herself into your ‘lotion,'” with Noelle captioning the post “The jump scare was intense.”

The adorable post had people in stitches in the comments, noting the sweet little girl looked like she spent a day “in the mines” or as a “chimney sweep.”
“These are the pictures we save for graduation and weddings,” joked one parent in the comments. “its funny later.”
“The way I laughed out loud when I came to the beard dye,” quipped another.
“I thought it was tanning lotion men’s beard dye is so much worse,” fretted another.
A few folks asked if it ever came off and the mom simply replied, “With time,” indicating it was quite a battle.
From mom to daughter, everyone walked away from this experience with a few laughs and a whole new lesson. Toddlers: Don’t touch what isn’t yours. Mamas: Triple check those easily accessible drawers and cabinets. Luckily this cheeky little lady walked away with nary more than some blackmail for the future.
