Post Malone thinks people might be freaked out when they see his new SKIMS campaign. Now, after posing in Realtree camouflage underwear for Kim Kardashian’s brand, the 30-year-old musician could technically be considered an underwear model. But as he told GQ, since he had “never done anything like that” before the experience was “terrifying.” He compared it to “a Sasquatch sighting.”
During his recent interview with GQ, Post Malone explained that the campaign made him look “naked in the woods” because he was wearing nothing but underwear — and the underwear was camouflage-print.
“It’s terrifying for me,” he told GQ. “I’ve never done anything like that. It’s like a Sasquatch sighting, essentially, is what it feels like. Everyone’s going to call it in to the cops and say, ‘We saw Bigfoot out here.’ Or, Averagefoot. Sorry.”
But in spite of his fears, Post Malone enjoyed the experience. “They had me holding an ax,” he said. “That was probably the toughest I’ve ever felt in my entire life.” He added that “it was really a lot of fun” and made him feel “feel like a handsome son of a b—-.”
On Instagram, SKIMS fans seemed to agree. Ahead of the Realtree camo print underwear launch on August 21, the brand shared some photos from the campaign. Reacting to photos of Post Malone in the camo underwear, one fan wrote, “She gets the best models!! Male and female. Love to see it.” Another person called Post Malone the “sexiest model I’ve ever seen.”
But some people did think he was totally naked at first. “Why is he not wearing underwear …” someone commented. Another person wrote, “For a second I thought he was nude.”
Regardless, the campaign seemed well-received, with one fan calling Kim a “marketing queen.” Looks like she’s done it again!
Before modeling for Kim’s brand, Post Malone was a fan of her products. It all started with a SKIMS bathrobe. “Whenever I went out to smoke at night, I would always put this [SKIMS bathrobe] on, and it was probably the most comfortable thing I’ve ever worn in my entire life. From there, it just snowballed out of control to the point [where now] I’m naked in the woods,” he told GQ.
