The Reactions to Karoline Leavitt’s New ‘Mar-a-Lago Makeover’ Face Are Exactly as They Should Be

When White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt began working for Donald Trump in his second term, she looked a bit different than she had in the years leading up to it. I’ll be the first one to chalk that up to her young age, especially since she was just 27 when she was given her role. OK, fine. But after she underwent what some on TikTok are calling her “Mar-a-Lago” makeover, it was hard to notice the more drastic changes.

I’m not here to judge anyone for wanting to change their appearance through fillers or cosmetic surgeries. And, while Leavitt has not admitted to any of that herself, nothing has stopped her harshest critics from claiming she has had some serious work done since she fell under the microscope as one of Trump’s closest Cabinet members. I mean, can you really blame them?

Someone compared Karoline Leavitt’s face from the beginning of Trump’s second term to present day.

People do not play when it comes to Leavitt’s appearance. Since the main part of her job involves speaking to reporters and being on camera, some of her critics find it increasingly easy to pick apart her appearance. Am I saying it’s right? No. But am I also noticing little nuances from time to time? Again, it’s hard not to.

Early on in Trump’s second presidential term, people poked fun at Leavitt’s lips on social media and called them thin. Then, when she appeared to use makeup to change them, she was called out for allegedly overlining her lips. Now, people believe she had more serious procedures done to change the way she looks as what some call a “Mar-a-Lago” makeover. This is, of course, in reference to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

The TikTok that shows a before and after shot of Leavitt, at her first press conference versus present day, her face looks pretty different. From an apparent tan or different shade of foundation to fuller lips, defined eyebrows, and smoother skin, there are claims that she had some work done to change her overall look.

“Even the cross is on Ozempic,” one user commented on the before and after shots in the TikTok.

Another wrote that Karoline “aged herself 20 years.”

Some claimed that Leavitt’s changes are not as drastic as they seem in the photos provided. But, another critic coulsn;lt help adding, “She should stop. It’s getting into uncanny valley territory.”

One person in the comments under the TikTok suggested that Leavitt simply uses Facetune or some other editing software more for social media. Someone else wrote that they “packed her full of makeup.” According to Huffpost, there is an alleged trend of the Mar-a-Lago face, wherein makeup and surgeries are used to change many women’s appearances within Trump’s inner circle to look more like his daughter, Ivanka Trump.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Lisiecki told the outlet that this look is identified by cheeks with filler to make them look higher and firmer, fuller lips, and smooth skin. You might say that Leavitt has checked all of these boxes, months into her role as press secretary. Especially if you ask those who are apparently keeping a close eye on any changes in her appearance.
