What to Know
Over the weekend, Gwen Stefani shut down rumors that she and Blake Shelton are on the rocks with a sweet picture showing off a little PDA, but now, one insider is claiming that there may have actually been some truth to those rumors after all.
Reportedly, Gwen and Blake have hit a tough stretch in their marriage, and they even hit their breaking point while trying to overcome challenges together. But does that mean their future as a couple is doomed?
Gwen and Blake have reportedly experienced some “real challenges” in their relationship.
A source close to the couple told The Sun that it hasn’t always been smooth sailing for Gwen and Blake.
“They’ve gone through real challenges, nothing manufactured,” the source said. “There were times when the tension was high enough that people close to them quietly wondered if the relationship could take the strain.”
Their differences almost split them up for good.
Despite the fact that Gwen and Blake are both musicians and even met while working on the same show (The Voice), they still didn’t have much in common when they first met, and it sounds like that caused them to clash from time to time — especially when they first got together.
“It wasn’t drama, it was the reality of blending two totally different worlds,” the insider added. “Blake is as country as it gets, and Gwen grew up in Los Angeles. Those lifestyles don’t automatically sync. They had to learn from each other.”
At one point, they reportedly obtained “help” in making their marriage work.
“They asked for help, and they nearly reached a point where things could have gone either way,” they continued. “But they showed up for each other instead of checking out.”
Ultimately, they were able to overcome those differences.

The source also confirmed that Gwen sharing a photo of Blake kissing her on the cheek on her Instagram Stories over the Thanksgiving weekend was her way of showing fans that all is well between them, despite the rumors.
“That was her way of saying, without words, ‘Calm down, we’re solid,'” they said.
Another source told The Sun that even though these two are from “different universes,” they’ve found a way to make things work.
“She always felt Blake came into her life at the exact moment she needed stability, like she was being given another chance at building a family,” they said.
There’s been a lot of speculation to the contrary, but it sounds like Gwen and Blake are going to be just fine.
