You know those before and after photos they put out of presidents, where they show how happy and optimistic they look at the start of their term, versus tired and worn down by the end? Yeah, apparently, that’s what some people are seeing in press secretary Karoline Leavitt. She was 27 when she became Donald Trump‘s press secretary for his second term in office, and after Fox News shared a TikTok of Leavitt addressing reporters at the White House, people commented on how “stressed” she looks at this point. Which is, in case you needed a reminder, not even a year into Trump’s second term.
But time flies when you’re cutting the national education budget, closing down national parks, and rolling out ICE raids across the United States, apparently. In Leavitt’s case, time flies so much that, to some, she looks like she has aged years in less than one whole calendar year. To be fair, it probably takes a lot out of someone to verbally back Trump at every turn, but much like the animal appliances like to say in The Flintstones, it’s a living.

In the TikTok, Leavitt answers questions about strikes against alleged Venezuelan drug boats. But the content of the clip isn’t really what’s important here, or to the millions of users on TikTok who saw it. Instead, people dragged Leavitt in the comments, as many were quick to speak negatively about the press secretary, from her answers to the way she looks, to the way that some believe she has aged.
“You can see the toll this is taking on her,” one user commented. Another added, “What’s the opposite of aging like fine wine?”
As if those comments weren’t enough to fracture Leavitt’s ego in some way, there are plenty more where those came from. Like the user who commented that Leavitt is aging in “cheese years.” In other words, she is aging quickly, much like cheese, and people aren’t afraid to poke fun at her for the quick changes they’ve seen.
“Oldest 27-year-old on the planet,” someone commented. Leavitt was 28 at the time of the clip, but we get it.
Others commented on Leavitt’s lipstick choice, a dark red, seemingly hastily applied to her lips. Speaking of which, some even commented on her “mouth movements” in between answers and comments to reporters.
Someone else added, “She aged like 60 years in the past months.” Ope. Another user wrote that Leavitt is stressed and it shows.
“Oh looks like Karoline Leavitt is stressing out and struggling with her job,” they commented. “She is tired of the lies she has to tell to the media. You can see it in her eyes.”
Does that make these roundabout cyberbullying antics OK? Not exactly. However, given Leavitt’s defense of and close proximity to Trump, some of Trump’s critics feel she is fair game. So, when she says something offensive, or she is quick to disparage reporters at the White House, those who oppose the Trump Administration are not above going low when it comes to Leavitt.
