Shocking Video Shows ICE Agent Dragging Pregnant Woman Through Snow Face Down

We are living in unsettling times for many immigrants in the United States. The Trump administration is cracking down on people living in the country undocumented, and the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency seems to be everywhere. A video from a traffic stop in Minneapolis recently drew ire from viewers across political lines. Many of these ICE agents take their jobs very seriously, but some people say a bit too seriously. The now-viral video caught the attention of the city’s police chief, who thinks this time ICE agents took it too far.

According to CBS Minneapolis, dozens of protestors confronted ICE agents near Lake Street and Pillsbury Avenue. WCCO reporter Esme Murphy was there and said she heard whistles and then people screaming. Murphy saw ICE agents with a woman face down on the ground.

“We kept yelling, ‘She is pregnant, she’s pregnant,” witness Tonika Deutch shared with the outlet. “They put their knees on her. We kept telling them, ‘She can’t breathe, let her up, let her up.'”

A video went viral on X, shocking many. “A reportedly pregnant woman was pinned face-down and dragged by ICE agents in South Minneapolis during a tense confrontation Monday. Dozens of angry neighbors flocked to the scene to confront the officers and throw snowballs at them,” the caption read.

But many wondered why the pregnant woman was protesting. “Being pregnant isn’t a ‘do what I want’ card,” one person commented.

“Why would a pregnant woman not cooperate? Always put your baby first! Don’t interfere in something that is none of your business!” another person agreed.

Others believed the ICE officer’s actions were way out of line. “Pure evil,” one comment reads.

“Man. This is brutal and could have been handled a different way,” someone else suggested.

According to Newsweek, Minneapolis Police Department Chief Brian O’Hara said he doesn’t condone what happened in his city.

“We don’t control the unsafe or questionable tactics by other agents that are here,” he said, adding that his Christian values differ from what he saw in the video. “The fear that people are experiencing is real.”

It’s unclear what happened to the woman in the video. But there’s no doubt we’re living in frightening times, and some days it just feels like a nightmare.
