What to Know
For some reason, Elon Musk decided to chime in when Variety shared footage of Sydney Sweeney on the red carpet at The Housemaid premiere in Los Angeles. Presumably, no one asked for his opinion, but of course, that didn’t stop him from sharing a cringeworthy meme that made him seem like a “creepy uncle.” Elon is, after all, 54 years old, while Sydney is 28.
At the premiere, Sydney wore a white gown with a plunging neckline. The fact that she wore this apparently made Elon feel like it was appropriate to make a public comment about her boobs on X, the social media platform he bought in 2022.
Elon expressed his empathy? for those with large breasts.
In response to footage of Sydney at the premiere, Elon shared a seemingly AI-generated meme that included an image of a woman with visible cleavage and the caption, “What it looks like.” Beneath that image was one that alluded to significant back pain. The text on the meme read, “What it feels like.”
Elon also added his own commentary: “Can’t be easy.” And while some people thanked him for raising awareness of the plight of women with large boobs, many thought the comment was totally unnecessary and weird. “She’s 30 years younger than you,” someone on X wrote back. “Weird.” Another person simply said, “are you ok?”
In case you forgot, Elon is the richest person in the world.

You’d think he’d have better things to do than lusting after younger women on social media. As one critic on Reddit put it, “Like imagine being the richest guy alive and still choosing creepy uncle at the premiere as your vibe.” But another person argued that “no amount of money can buy class, taste, charisma or wit and these wealth hoarders prove that everyday.”
A third person added, “Imagine being that rich and still being such a loser.” In addition to leading Tesla, SpaceX, X, and xAI, Elon also served as the head of the “Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)” launched by the Trump administration. Additionally, he has welcomed (at least) 14 children. Given that he has all of these responsibilities, one X user asked him a pretty fair question: “don’t you have a rocket to build or something?”
But people weren’t surprised to see that Elon is a fan of Sydney’s.
Earlier this year, Sydney’s American Eagle jean ad controversy drew praise from many conservatives, including President Donald Trump. The fact that Elon seemingly joined in was not surprising. “Sydney positioned herself as the actual poster child for white supremacy,” one Redditor argued. “Of course she’s attracting Elon’s attention.”
The AE ad campaign, which included the slogan “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” was accused of promoting eugenics. For months, Sydney largely avoided commenting on this interpretation. She called Trump’s response to it “surreal.”
In December 2025, she addressed the controversy during an interview with People. She said she was “surprised by the reaction” and doesn’t “support the views some people chose to connect to the campaign.” She did not elaborate on the views that she doesn’t support, but added, “Anyone who knows me knows that I’m always trying to bring people together. I’m against hate and divisiveness,” she says. “In the past my stance has been to never respond to negative or positive press but recently I have come to realize that my silence regarding this issue has only widened the divide, not closed it.”
