What to Know
A lot has changed for Joseph and Kendra Duggar in a short amount of time. Though Joseph remains behind bars following his March 18 arrest, Kendra was bailed out less than two hours after turning herself in at the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. Now, thanks to a phone call that was released by the sheriff, we know that the couple has been in contact since Joseph was taken into police custody — and that, for the time being, Kendra is essentially in hiding.
Joseph’s call and visit logs were released, including his call with Kendra.

As multiple outlets including People reported, Joseph has only had a visit from his attorney while behind bars, though he has had multiple calls with his wife, Kendra.
Joseph was arrested on allegations of molesting a 9-year-old girl during a family vacation to Florida and remains in jail in Washington County, while Kendra was arrested on child endangerment and false imprisonment charges two days later, on March 20. She has since been released, and Joseph was also hit with the same charges, believed to be related to their four children at home.
One of their phone calls has surfaced online, and the couple can be heard talking about Joseph being in solitary confinement, and him taking time to read the bible on a daily basis.
“Pretty small area, but I’ve been able to read a lot actually, and resting some, but I’m not sleeping great through the night,” he told Kendra of his cell, where he said he spends 23 hours a day.
Kendra is now living somewhere besides the home she shares with Joseph and their children.
During the phone call, Kendra also let it slip that her living arrangements had changed. At first, it almost sounded like she was about to tell him who she was staying with, but remembering that their call was going to be recorded, she stopped herself just in time.
“They brought me to a good place to stay that’s very private,” she can be heard telling her husband over the phone.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Kendra signed a no contact order that means she isn’t able to be in touch with her children until her April 29 court date, so that’s likely the biggest reason why she’s had to move into a different residence — for now, at least.
The Duggars seem to be willing to help them out during this time — or at least, willing to help Kendra.
Michelle Duggar was the one who picked Kendra up after she turned herself in, and it wouldn’t be surprising to find out that the Duggars also found her a place to stay — they’re connected like that in their community.
It sounds like we won’t find out what happens next for Kendra until her court date next month… unless, of course, another phone call leaks.
