Drinking too much alcohol can lead to bad decisions. When people make decisions while drunk, they can not only endanger themselves but also those around them. It’s never a good idea to operate a motor vehicle of any kind while intoxicated, but bringing a child with you is truly vile behavior. Surveillance video reportedly captured a Pennsylvania father crashing his motorcycle with his 7-year-old daughter riding on the gas tank. Miraculously, they both survived, but the dad’s next move shocked authorities.
The dad apparently wasn’t paying attention.
According to court documents obtained by Law & Crime, 27-year-old Dallas Coburn rode his motorcycle on April 13, 2026, with his young daughter on the gas tank. Video appears to show Coburn approaching oncoming traffic that’s stopped. As he tries to slow down, the motorcycle skids and falls on its side, trapping the 7-year-old underneath. Coburn allegedly gets up and confronts the driver of the SUV stopped in front of him.
“What the f— is wrong with you,” the father appears to scream at the other driver.
Coburn left the scene.
Shockingly, Coburn picked up his child and allegedly put her inside another person’s vehicle before police arrived and left the scene. Greene Washington Regional Police Chief William DeForte, told KDKA he could not believe Coburn’s behavior.
“It’s like putting a parachute on a child and throwing them out of an airplane. It’s dangerous. It’s reckless,” he said.
Emergency crews took the child to a hospital while police searched for Coburn.
Authorities caught up with him at the hospital shortly thereafter. Coburn allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol earlier in the day but refused a blood test. He allegedly took off with his child before doctors medically cleared her.
“It’s amazing this girl didn’t suffer more injuries than she did. She was very lucky, very lucky to have survived this without being hospitalized for a long period of time,” DeForte said.
Police issued a warrant for the father’s arrest. He faces charges that include driving under the influence and reckless endangerment of a child.
“The suspect did not have a motorcycle license, no insurance, no inspection, [and] a child on the gas tank. It’s a recipe for disaster, an absolute recipe for disaster,” the police chief added, per KDFA.
People condemned the father’s behavior.
Just two days after the crash, Coburn posted a photo with a little girl asking for time to slow down. The timing struck a nerve with some people.
“Your a good father my guy I know ive been there and see how you take care of her you do a better job than most people,” one person commented.
Others, however, didn’t see it that way.
“this great father was just arrested for driving his motorcycle drunk with his daughter on the bike with him,” one comment reads.
“A good father would never put their child in danger like that while being intoxicated. You can love your child but loving your child does not make you a good father,” someone else shared. “A good father wouldn’t make stupid decisions that impact their child’s life. I can’t believe people think what he did is okay.”
Sir, the proof is in the video. You cannot deny the accident. If you really love that child, get your life in order for her. She deserves better.
