Kids’ sports should be a time for them to learn new skills, condition their bodies with exercise, and have fun. Competition is good, and it’s healthy to experience both wins and losses, which helps kids to learn good sportsmanship. Unfortunately, many adults ruin it for their kids by taking it way too seriously. A police body cam caught a Florida mom acting like a fool at her son’s football game on May 2, 2026, which landed her behind bars. It’s embarrassing for her and her poor son.
The mom apparently acted totally out of control at the football game.
According to a social media post by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Renee Lambert was attending her son’s Pop Warner youth football game at Brooks Park when she reportedly became upset during the game. The video appears to show the 34-year-old mother charging onto the field and attacking a kid on the other team. Witnesses contacted the sheriff’s office, who got to the scene quickly. They couldn’t believe what happened next.
Lambert became combative with law enforcement.
A deputy’s body cam picked up his interaction with Lambert. She immediately started on the defense with law enforcement.
“Are you mad at them for hitting me?” Lambert asks in the video.
“I’m mad at an adult for attacking a kid,” the deputy responds. “Stop. You’re detained right now.”
Lambert, not having any of it, defies the deputy and tries to get away. “No, I’m not,” she says.
Deputies eventually got her in handcuffs and took her to jail.
The video of the incident is truly wild.
Derek Jones posted a video of the attack on Facebook, and it’s bad. Lambert appears to have no qualms with running up and beating a teenager. The fact that she didn’t see anything wrong with her behavior after the fact is even more concerning.
“I don’t know why parents allow their kid to play football if they can’t handle what comes with that. Mommy running out to the field to take over her son’s fight is wild AF,” one comment reads. “Good job embarrassing him and your family mom.”
One person had a suggestion to stop violence during football games. “Simple solution to this fighting during game play, if you fight you get suspended for the rest of the season and are not allowed to participate during the upcoming seasons. As for parents never hit or kick a child because you will be arrested and not allowed back on the football event and will be given a NO TREPASSING,” the commenter shared. “Keep it simple and parents start by teaching your kids if they want to play respect the next player and learn how to accept defeat along with winning.”
We have to agree with this commenter who thinks people like Lambert are the problem: “Parents are ruining youth sports,” the person wrote.
Lambert found herself with charges and a ban.
Per WINK, she faces charges of resisting an officer and cruelty towards a child.
The Fort Myers Falcons Youth Football Organization released a statement to the news station that reads in part: “We are especially disappointed that an adult inserted themselves into a conflict involving children. Adults are expected to lead by example and help de-escalate situations—not escalate them. As a result of this incident, the parent involved has been permanently banned from all Fort Myers Falcons events and activities.”
Lambert tried to act tough but looked like a fool and can no longer watch her son play. We can’t imagine that was worth it.
