Blake Shelton’s On-Stage Dig at His Manager Has People Wondering What’s Going On at Home

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have faced divorce rumors for some time now, and a comment that Blake made on stage during a recent performance has raised even more questions about their relationship. Last year, people noticed that Blake and Gwen appeared to be spending a lot of time apart. And based on what Blake said on May 6, 2026, that seems to still be the case.

The country singer was performing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Gwen was also performing in Vegas that night—but at a different venue.

Blake seemed pretty frustrated by this.

Addressing the audience at his show, he said, “My wife came to town. She’s here. I mean, she’s not here. She’s over there at another venue,” according to a video shared by TMZ (per Entertainment Weekly). But because of his own show, Blake wasn’t able to see her perform, which clearly irritated him. He continued, “What kind of a d—head books us the exact same nights every single night?”

But the “d—head” in question seems to be Blake’s manager. Awkward. He added, “I think my manager did that. He’s here, isn’t he? Sorry, Narvel.”

So, maybe it’s true that Blake and Gwen are both just really busy at the moment.

An insider previously told Star that in spite of the speculation about Gwen and Blake’s marriage, they both just had a lot on their plates. That didn’t necessarily quell the divorce rumors though, because that level of distance can certainly impact a relationship. Now, it seems like the reduced time together is really getting to Blake, at least based on how he reacted at his recent concert.

Back in 2025, the insider told Star, “Truth be told, they’re both so different and it’s starting to become more apparent now. There’s a real fear that the way things are headed, Blake and Gwen could wind up becoming another Hollywood divorce casualty, even though it’s the last thing either of them would want.”

But Blake acted sort of dumbfounded by the divorce rumors earlier this year.

He learned about his alleged marital issues in the same way that the rest of us did: via the tabloids. It sounds like the rumors actually surprised him. On Country Countdown, he said, “I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up,’ ‘They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce.’ And then, a week later, a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store… ‘Oh, they’re back together again!'”

Then, when they go some time without being seen together again, the rumors come back in full force, which is baffling to him. He added, “And another week goes by, and we’re not seen at the grocery store… ‘They’re divorcing.'”

Right now, Blake has performances scheduled for the rest of May, and Gwen’s shows are expected to last even longer. She’s currently performing with her former band, No Doubt, for the first time in more than 10 years. The shows will run until June 13, so it’s unclear how much time Gwen and Blake will be able to spend together in the meantime.
