Nearly four years after the last sighting of Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, investigators, family, and loved ones may finally have closure. Noel’s family last saw the disabled 6-year-old boy in 2022 and reported him missing in Texas in early 2023. His mother, Cindy Rodriguez Singh, reportedly told family members she sold her son at a grocery store, but the story never seemed right to anyone. In 2025, she found herself on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list and was arrested shortly thereafter.
On May 13, 2026, police announced they’d found human remains on the property of a home previously rented by Noel’s family. Although everyone expected he had died a long time ago, this discovery makes the situation much more real.
Police confirmed the discovery.
Everman Police Chief Al Brooks confirmed that investigators located the remains at a home on Wisteria Drive, according to Law & Crime.
“I want to start by acknowledging the weight of this moment for our community, for those who have followed this case since its beginning, and most importantly for the memory of little Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez,” Brooks said during a news conference.
He added that authorities have not yet positively identified the remains, and he will not get ahead of the process. For now, the medical examiner’s office will do a “complete forensic examination,” Law & Crime reported. Officials are diligently “working toward an official identification,” Brooks added.
Cadaver dogs picked up a scent at the property years ago.
Though Brooks remained tight-lipped about the discovery, he did confirm that cadaver dogs went to the property rented by Rodriguez Singh in 2023. They reportedly got a hit on the ground underneath a freshly poured patio at the time, Law & Crime reported.
“We did have cadaver dogs that alerted back there,” Brooks said. “I will not comment on the extent of what occurred with this particular search. But what I will tell you is that each and every search was done professionally, methodically, with the resources we had available at the time.”
Rodriguez Singh allegedly told investigators her son was living with his father.
Per Fox 4, after loved ones reported Noel missing, Rodriguez Singh allegedly claimed he was living with his biological father in Mexico. Just two days later, Rodriguez Singh, her husband, and Noel’s six siblings fled to India. The child was not with them.
Police arrested Rodriguez Singh months ago.
Authorities arrested the mother in August 2025 in India after a short stint on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, according to Fox 4. She faces a first-degree murder charge in her young son’s death. In March 2026, a judge ordered her to a mental health facility after determining she was incompetent to stand trial.
No children ask to be born, but they deserve a chance at a happy life. What a travesty.
