One thing to remember about when you’re a celebrity is that most people, even in the age of social media, get to go through life with at least some semblance of anonymity. Usually, if we want to avoid posting photos of a super bad haircut or the last couple months at the end of a toxic relationship when we weren’t quite feeling ourselves, we are often afforded that luxury. Unfortunately, most celebs can’t say the same.
Controversial America’s Next Top Model host and supermodel, Tyra Banks, is currently under a mountain of scrutiny after debuting some monstrously big bangs that have made their way around the internet! Tyra Banks’ new bangs have caught the internet’s attention in a major way.
While serving as a judge on season 22 of Project Runway, Tyra Banks decided to debut some fresh bangs which completely stole the show. Seriously, if you’ve followed the supermodel over the years, you’ll know that she’s worn some very unique hairstyles throughout the years, but this one may just take the cake.
A screen grab posted to X has over 2 million views and loads of comments filled with people who don’t quite understand what on earth happened with her bangs here. One person shared, “That’s not a bang that’s a nuclear missile strike explosion.”
Another person commented, “It’s like she couldn’t decide between two hairstyles and so put one whole entire one on the front of her head and one whole entire one on the back.” Another individual couldn’t help but relish what’s going on here hair-wise. They wrote, “Honestly it soothes me and comforts my inner child to be reminded that she is still unhinged as f—.” That’s one way to look at it!
The funny comparisons have been rolling in.
While there are lots of funny comparisons in the comments section on X, you have to love it when someone from the Bravo universe is brought into things. For instance, someone put up a side-by-side shot of Gizelle from The Real Housewives of Potomac. We totally see how these bangs do resemble each other.
In the previous post shared on X, there was every comparison under the sun happening, including comparing Tyra’s hair with a popular animated character. One person wrote, “Dora the Explorer up front, centaur in the back.”
Another individual in the X comments decided that Tyra’s new bangs were reminding them of a certain Vogue editor. They said, “It looks like she stole anna wintour’s hair and stapled it to her forehead.” Yikes.
Is Tyra in on the joke? It seems like she might be.
If there’s one thing you have to respect, it’s when someone can admit that perhaps one of their former looks was simply not it.
Tyra posted a carousel of shots on Instagram taken from her appearance on Project Runway. Part of her caption read: “Brown never lets me down. 🤎But these bangs… 🤔😂. Watch me (and my buddy BANGY) on #ProjectRunway tonight on @Freeform.” Pretty funny to decide to name your bangs! Bangy seems fairly spot-on.
You have to appreciate a brown power blazer moment, but it’s those extra thick bangs that just take things to a whole other level. You really have to wonder what her stylist was thinking when it came to this look. Maybe an exaggerated 1990s fringe that just didn’t have the proper execution? We’ll probably never know.
