It’s never a good idea to speculate about someone’s sexuality, but trust the internet, and social media users specifically, to do just that when it comes to Kai Trump. In the video, Kai lip syncs to the song “Love Again” by Dua Lipa. She’s wearing a white button down, open with a bikini on under it, and she has sunglasses on. For some reason, users took this as another clear sign from the universe (and from Kai) that her sexuality is something other than what MAGA might assume it to be.
“She def goes for women,” one TikTok user commented.
Another added, “I was in the closet once too.”
Under the video Kai posted before that, another one where she lip syncs to a song inside her home, someone wrote, unprompted, “LETS GO LESBIANS.”
“Obviously Kai is a lesbian but I’m just not convinced Emma is to be honest,” someone else wrote, in reference to a friend Kai has shared on her social media accounts from time to time.
There was already speculation after Kai Trump posted a video with a female friend.

In May 2026, when Kai posted a TikTok with her #bestfriend, according to the caption of the video, users jumped on the chance even then to speculate on the nature of the relationship. Was this Kai’s girlfriend? Was there something more to the friendship than Kai chose to let on. At the time, Kai was not quite 19 years old yet.
Users joked in the comments that the pair was their “favorite couple.”
Some even likened the teens to the hockey players and same sex relationship in the show Heated Rivalry. But Kai never responded to those comments to confirm any kind of romantic relationship. For those who are convinced there’s something more to it, though, they might point out that Kai also didn’t deny the speculation.

While people argue that Kai hasn’t been seen with a boyfriend is because she has had secret girlfriends, the idea of dating as the president’s granddaughter might just be a nonstarter altogether for her. At least, for now. She has spoken about the difficulties in dating while being followed by the Secret Service, and it sounds like a headache in itself.
In January 2026, she appeared on Impaulsive With Logan Paul and admitted to how “awkward” it is to go on dates.
“To be honest with you, it’s really awkward when you’re sitting and, like, going on a date with a guy [Secret Service] is two tables behind you,” Kai said on the podcast episode. “My thing is, I try to try my best not to, like, let it bother me.” Despite the fodder online, Kai has never hinted at her sexuality being fluid or involving being attracted to females.
