It’s official: Sister Wives star Janelle Brown is off the market. Four years after her split from Kody Brown as their family’s plural marriage imploded on reality TV, Janelle hard launched her new boyfriend on Instagram. Not that long ago, she was saying that she wasn’t interested in dating (or ever getting married) in the future, so this guy must have really swept her off her feet.
Janelle introduced her new man on Tuesday.
Janelle showed off her boyfriend for the very first time in a post on Instagram as she shared a selfie of the two of them grinning ear to ear. She looks so happy — she deserves this!
She didn’t share too many details about her new love (other than the fact that his name is Pete) and he wasn’t tagged in her post, but it seems like they’ve been quietly dating for a while.
“Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared,” Janelle wrote. “I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed. And it has been pretty wonderful.”
How sweet is that?!
Who could blame her for being a bit disillusioned by love after everything she went through with Kody?
Witnessing the breakdown of Janelle’s marriage to Kody on Sister Wives was brutal, and seeing the heartbreak that came with losing the former couple’s son, Garrison, was even worse. So it wasn’t surprising that she wasn’t too quick to jump into the dating scene after leaving Kody. After all, she had been in a relationship for almost 30 years.
It was also just a year ago that it sounded like Janelle had sworn off dating altogether, according to what she said during an appearance on the Sibling Revelry podcast in February 2025.
“I’m not really interested in getting married again or even really dating at this stage,” the 57-year-old said at the time. “So I’m not even thinking about, like, ‘Oh, what do I need to do?’ Because I’m just like, I am over [it].”
She added, “I love my single life.”
Pete must be a pretty special person, then.
Her family already seems to approve — including Christine.
Not only did Christine’s daughter, Mykelti, comment on the post to congratulate Janelle, but so did Christine herself. They might not be sister wives anymore, but they’ve stayed close in the years since they decided to walk away from their marriage to Kody.
And from the sound of things, it looks like Pete and Christine have already met, so maybe things are getting serious?
“He’s such an awesome guy!!” she commented on Janelle’s post. “They are so cute together and he’s a construction worker 👷🏻♀️ like David!!”
