Kylie Jenner Has a Very Different Take on Surrogacy Than Sisters Kim & Khloé Kardashian

Celebrity surrogacy has been a hot button topic for the past few years, and even though two of her older sisters took advantage of it to grow their families, Kylie Jenner may not have the same view of the process. The topic came up on Khloé Kardashian‘s new reality series, The Girls, this week, and people are surprised at Kylie’s unexpected take on using a surrogate, especially since she said that she wouldn’t consider using one herself.

Two of Khloé’s friends are considering surrogacy.

On the show, Yris Palmer and Malika Haqq met with a surrogacy matchmaker to talk about expanding their families — Yris has two kids, and Malika has one — with the help of a gestational carrier. The matchmaker let them know the process would not be cheap; when all is said and done, the process would run them each somewhere between $200,000 to $250,000.

They then called Kylie to find out what she thought after their meeting, and despite the fact that both Kim and Khloé have used surrogates to conceive some of their children, it doesn’t sound like something Kylie would ever consider, surprisingly enough.

Kylie admitted she wouldn’t be on board.

During their conversation, Malika asked Kylie if she’d ever consider using a surrogate, to which Kylie replied, “I don’t think so.”

“I don’t wanna say no no, but I’m like 99.9% sure I just couldn’t do that,” she said. “Plus, I have big, healthy babies! Like, there’s no reason for me to really have a surrogate.”

Kylie is a mom to two children she shares with ex Travis Scott — daughter Stormi, 8, and son Aire, 4. And while she kept her pregnancies with both babies pretty private, she did carry them both herself.

Kim chose to use a surrogate for her two youngest children, Chicago and Psalm, after suffering from placenta accreta. Khloé used a surrogate to conceive her second child, Tatum, though she’s only said that she experienced complications that could make her high risk for a miscarriage.

People are finding her take “refreshing.”

While fans on Reddit are a bit taken aback by how flippantly Malika and Yris seemed while talking about the possibility of using a surrogate, they actually found Kylie’s thoughts on the situation “refreshing,” since it seems like more and more celebrities are turning to this option to grow their families.

“I liked Kylie’s response about her not having a real medical reason to go the surrogate route too,” one person wrote. “There’s so many celebrities using surrogates just because they don’t want to carry their own child and it’s now seen as a common luxury that they can afford, so that was refreshing [I guess].”

No word on what Malika and Yris decided to do just yet, but it sounds like the surrogacy matchmaker gave them both a lot to think about that they didn’t consider before.
