10 Halloween Costumes Based on the Best Movie Moments of 2024

Movies have the ability to transport an audience to another time and place, allowing people to consider the world from another perspective. Halloween encourages people to dress up as someone else for the night. When you combine the two, you are sure to have fun and forget about your worries for a while. Use 2024’s biggest blockbuster hits as inspiration for your costume.

From Inside Out 2 to A Quiet Place: Day One, there were so many good flicks out this year. You can really get creative and celebrate all things cinema by choosing a character from one of them. The 10 ideas on this list are just the tip of the iceberg.

Pixar’s Inside Out 2 brought audiences back into the mind of Riley Anderson’s mind. She’s 13 now, so some new emotions are introduced. One of these is embarrassment, voiced by Paul Walter Hauser, because when you are a teenager everything is embarrassing. To rock this costume, wear a light magenta hoodie, purple pants, and red sneakers. Paint your face pink and add extra blush. Accessorize with a magenta wig or dye your hair.

Tyler Owens From ‘Twisters’

Yeehaw! Glen Powell played the handsome former rodeo cowboy turned tornado wrangler Tyler Owens in the stand-alone sequel Twisters. Tyler teams up with Kate Carter, played by Daisy Edgar-Jones, to research the powerful but deadly weather phenomena. To dress as this brave character, a cowboy hat is mandatory. After that, there is room for creativity. Perhaps you want to recreate the infamous white wet T-shirt scene or maybe a simple plaid button-up will do.

To dress up as Harold, wear your best purple outfit. Make it a couple or family costume by having others dress up as a moose, a purple crayon, or a porcupine. So many possibilities exist.

Ryan Gosling stars as veteran stuntman Colt Seavers, and Emily Blunt dazzles as Jody Moreno, a first-time director. The former couple still kind of love each other but things get complicated.

To dress as this power couple, you have options. For Colt, wear a dirty white T-shirt and vest or a yellow suit and beanie. For Jody, wear a pink jumpsuit and straw hat and accessorize with a megaphone or a rose button-up shirt, purple tank top, and pink jeans.

John Krasinski’s family-friendly film centers on imaginary friends. One of these is Marshmallow and is voiced by John. The character is based on one of his daughter’s “real life” imaginary friends. The character is named exactly right because it is a literal marshmallow whose head is on fire.

This costume allows so much creativity. The base will be something white, but you can add your own flair to the accessories. Dye your hair or wear a wig for the fire. You can do crazy eye makeup to look like your face is melting after being roasted.

It’s way less work and then you can spend more time on all the witty banter and one-liners to use at the costume party.
