It's not right, but moms are constantly judged for the way they choose to care for their children. This is intensified when the mom in question lives her life in the public eye. Everyone is a backseat parent and feels entitled to give their unwanted opinion.
Here are 10 times the public judged celebrity moms too harshly. Perhaps it's time for all of us to take a page from Ted Lasso's playbook and be curious instead of judgmental. Most people are doing the best they can, after all.

This Pretty Little Liars alum had the nerve to breastfeed at a photo shop. The photographer snapped a cute picture of the moment. and Shay shared it on Instagram. One user had notes. “She’s not even looking at the baby, she’s not connected with the baby," they commented. Shay clapped back. “I missed the part in the baby books that stated I had to maintain eye contact with my daughter while she feeds rather than capturing an amazing moment we were having," she responded. "Pls let me know where I can download your parenting manual, I’ll get right on it!”
Hillary Duff
In 2016, Hilary Duff spent some time at the Happiest Place on Earth. Even there she managed to get the wrath of some people's judgment. She posted a photo on Instagram of her kissing her son Luca on the lips in front of the It's a Small World ride. Many took issue with this in the comments. Hilary fired back. "For anyone commenting that a kiss on the lips with my 4-year-old is ‘inappropriate,’ go ahead and click a quick unfollow with your warped minds and judgment,” she wrote in response.
Kelly Clarkson
In 2017, Kelly Clarkson just wanted to share a sweet moment with her daughter River on Instagram. She was introducing the 2-year-old to the joys of Nutella. Some people found that offensive and didn't think Kelly should feed her kid sweets. It's frankly none of their business.

Jenna Dewan is a mom of three. She shares daughter Everly Tatum with ex-husband Channing Tatum. She shares Rhiannon Lee Kathryn and Callum Kazee with her fiancé, Steve Kazee. Beyond motherhood, Jenna is a beautiful woman who gets shamed when not dressing in a super-conservative manner.
“Apparently, when you become a mother, you’re supposed to leave your sexuality at the door, and I never understood that,” she pushed back to Women’s Health in 2018. “I think there’s nothing sexier than becoming a mother. You give life. It’s everything. And you don’t change who you are inside just because you have a kid.”

Charlize dealt with it the best she could, but anyone who has been there knows it's not easy. Many people were critical of her technique. They called her a "monster" and accused her of dragging him to the car. In reality, Charlize did what any mom would do in her place.

Megan Fox shares sons Noah, Bodhi, and Journey with ex-husband Brian Austin Green. She lets them pick out their own gender-neutral clothing and hairstyles. She opened up to Today Parents in 2018 about this philosophy. “I let my kids wear what they want! They will tell me what they are," she explained. "It’s not my job to teach them that.”
Some people think boys shouldn't have long hair or wear certain clothing items. Megan has words for those critics. “I thought it was illegal, honestly, to shame a child or shame a mom for what a child wears," she mused.
