According to the Pew Research Center, the average American adult male is likely to have been married at least once in their lifetime, with the average age to get married at just over 30 years old. Of course, averages only tell part of the story. What might be true for a hypothetical John Smith who lives in Kansas, definitely isn’t true for, say, a guy named John Mayer or John Cusack who has ties to Hollywood.
While there are plenty of examples of male celebrities who love getting married and have done so many, many times (Nicholas Cage is on marriage No. 4 and the late Larry King got hitched eight times), there is a growing group who seem like they might never make it down the aisle. We’re not sure if these celebrities (all who are in their 40s and beyond and never married) will eventually pull a George Clooney and finally settle down or if this is the bachelor for life list! We suspect that No. 12 is the least likely to get married, so scroll on to see if we’re getting it wrong!

Alexander Skarsgård
This 47-year-old hottie from Sweden, who likes to keep his private life private, has never been married as far as we know. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t made some commitments in his life, however. He and girlfriend Tuva Novotny welcomed their first child together in 2022.
Jared Leto
Jared Leto has never seemed like a celebrity who is all the concerned about living a conventional life, so it isn't too surprising that the 51-year-old actor and singer has never tied the knot. He's had a few long-term girlfriends but he's said in the media that he just doesn't believe in marriage.
Colin Farrell
Although there were rumors that he was married in the early 2000s, those were never proven to be true. As far as we know, the 47-year-old Irish actor is still a bachelor. He’s dated a fair bit in his years and is the father of two children with former partners.

Milo Ventimiglia
He might be most famous for playing a doting dad and a loving husband on the tear-jerker show This is Us, but that was all just acting for 46-year-old Milo Ventimiglia who has never been married or had any kids. He's said that he likes having a partner but that his love life has been put second to his career, so maybe someday.
John Mayer
Anyone who has listened to Taylor Swift's music knows that John Mayer is a bit of a player. The 45-year-old has dated plenty of big name celebrities (including Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston) but has never settled down with anyone yet.

Drew Carey
Funny man and game show host Drew Carey is 65 and has never made it down the aisle. Unlike some of the other dudes on this list, however, he has popped the question. He's been engaged twice, but both relationships ended before wedding bells started ringing.

There are lots of rumors about who actor Benicio del Toro has dated, including alleged hook-ups with Lindsay Lohan and Scarlett Johansson, but the 56-year-old has never been married. He does share a daughter with Kimberly Stewart (daughter of singer Rod Stewart) who was born in 2011.
Matthew Perry
Although he has been engaged once, Matthew Perry remains the only one of the Friends cast to never tie the knot. The 54-year-old has said that he still hopes to find love someday, ideally with a woman who has her own career and money.

The 51-year-old rapper and actor has dated some big name stars, including Serena Williams, Tiffany Haddish, and Jennifer Hudson. Although he has expressed a desire to find a lasting partner, he’s never been married or even engaged (as far as the celeb gossip sites know).
Leonardo DiCaprio
We're not sure what is the bigger mystery: Will 48 year old Leonardo DiCaprio ever get married or will he ever date a woman over the age of 25? So far, he seems pretty content dating his way through the available pool of 20- to 24-year-old models of the world, so time will tell.
Owen Wilson
Owen Wilson, 54, is another actor in the "has babies but not wives" category. He has three kids by three former partners and despite starring in a movie called Marry Me, it doesn't seem like he has ever popped that particular question.
Al Pacino
Iconic actor Al Pacino has four children, including one who was born in 2022 when Pacino was 82 years old. He’s 83 now and never married, so we’re going to ahead and assume that he’s probably never planning to officially tie the knot.

Bombastic television host Bill Maher, 67, has never been married or had kids and has no plans to. He told Howard Stern that he just "doesn't get it" when it comes to wanting to be with the same person day after day. He simply doesn't see the appeal of marriage because he "loves" being alone.

There are some people who might assume that celebs who don't want to get hitched must be afraid of commitment. Ricky Gervais would likely disagree. Although he's said that he doesn't see the point of marriage, he's been in a committed relationship with his partner Jane Fallon since they met in college 40 years ago!

Women have been swooning over 57-year-old John Cusack since his Say Anything days, but anyone hoping to get a ring from the romantic comedy actor will likely be disappointed. He's another actor in the "doesn't believe in marriage" camp.
