We all have our off days — even Kate Middleton. Sometimes we aren't looking our best due to the heat, an accidentally heavy hand with the makeup, or a sleepless night that often comes with being a mom. (Kate can especially relate to that last one now that she has three kids to juggle).
Not even our beloved duchess can look impeccably perfect every moment of every day. It's hard to believe it's true, but from time to time, even Kate has a less-than-stellar makeup moment and doesn't look like the flawless angel we know she is. But who hasn't been there and done that? Not every product lives up to its promises, after all.
We totally can't blame Kate a bit for the occasional beauty faux pas. It might even make us love her more just because it reminds us of her humanity and the fact that she's actually just like us. Humidity Hair?
Wearing a headpiece is never an easy feat. Wearing one with wind and perhaps humidity makes for a hair disaster. It's hard to tell what's hair and what's headpiece — and we can't imagine the Queen appreciating flyaways. Still love that smile though, Kate.
Disco Fever
This was for a theme party before Kate was an official member of the royal family, so we forgive her for her neon and sequins — and hot pants! She could have gone a little more wild with her makeup, but she stayed minimal, which is why this is a beauty faux pas.
Too Much Makeup
Kate's eyes are very heavily lined with black, and it's a look that ages her (and gives us raccoon vibes). Might be the lighting — she didn't get the privilege of running this photo through a soft Instagram filter like the rest of us do, after all. We have to assume this was a one-off mistake, though, because she normally looks so flawless.
She's Come Undone
Ponytails and pulled-back looks are great — until some wind or the hours ticking by creates a poof and wayward hairs, which is all but inevitable on a winter day in the UK. Kate's still perfect in our book, though. Do we think she does the messy mom bun on the weekends?
Anarchy?
Something about Kate's look here makes her appear a bit sinister, especially with the dark hair she has going on. It might just be the shoulder pads. Or her heavy eyes and dark makeup. It would probably be different if she had a pop of color, like a little lip tint.
Hat Attack
We're going to blame the hat for the hair issues in this photo. We don't think anyone can wear a hat that far forward on her forehead and not have her hair shrivel up in horror — not to mention that the hat itself is also a bit of a miss. We know that fascinators are common in royal life, but this one might be a bit too big.
Sleepy Kate
This snap is proof that everyone looks better smiling. We're not faulting Kate at all — it must be exhausting knowing any time you are out in public you will be photographed, especially after a hard night up with the kids. Kate looks like she needs a little nap, and she deserves it.
Royally Eye Shadowed
Too. Much. Eye shadow. In professional photo shoots, sometimes heavy, dark eye makeup can look really good, but this photo has proven that often in real life, it ends up being too much and can make a tired person look even more tired. We know Kate's trying to look solemn, but she may have taken it one step too far.
Too Cheeky
Whoa, this is some heavy makeup! We're not a fan of the blush. Not only is it a lot, but it makes her face look too red in comparison to her neck. Also, are those some gray hairs we see? No judgment — many of us happen to have about 10 times as many as Kate.
Baggage Claim
Here we see the glow of a pregnant-with-baby-two Kate. We also see a bit of baggage under those eyes, which isn't too surprising given that she has always had tough pregnancies. Hopefully, Kate is getting plenty of sleep now that her kids are all a bit older!
A Bit Bland
We don't love when Kate goes too heavy with the makeup, but this all-natural look is a little too bland for our taste. She really could have used a more colorful lip or a bit more mascara so she looked natural with a bit more pizzazz.
Aging Up
Usually, Kate looks much younger than someone who turned 40 in 2022 has any right to, but during this 2021 outing, something was definitely off. We're not sure if it's her foundation or the dark eye makeup, but her look was aging her this day.
Forgot To Blend
We love the color of Kate's eye shadow, but the execution definitely leaves something to be desired. We don't know if her makeup artist just forgot to blend that day or what, but those harsh lines around the edges of her eye shadow aren't very flattering.
Far Too Dark
Here's another time Kate has been victimized with eye makeup that is way too dark. The rest of her look is fine, but it's the shadow that could have looked a lot better with a lighter color that opened her eyes up a bit more. Just a suggestion!
A Tired Mom
Add this to the list of times when Kate actually looked like the exhausted mom she (probably) is while out in public. It's impossible to ignore those bags under her eyes, but we get it. She's a royal and a mom to three kids. It happens!
