22 Celebrities Who Struggled With Being Addicted to Sex

Sexual addiction. Hyper-sexual disorder. Whatever one chooses to label it, paraphilia has long been a controversial subject. These celebrities all claimed to have struggled with sexual addiction, and according to the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, so do 12 million other Americans. (There's actually a 12-step program for the disorder.)

And when it comes to sex-addicted celebrities in Hollywood, temptation is around every corner. From wild parties to overeager fans, many celebs have fallen victim to various addictive diseases. And sadly, many celebrities have lost their marriages to such such temptations and have participated in some super scandalous affairs

While some celebs have sought treatment for their issues, others attribute their actions to simply "bad behavior." Either way, it seems that Tinseltown is the exact wrong place to be if one is living with such a condition. ;

From surprising actors, like Rob Lowe, to maybe not-so-shocking celebrities, these men and women are learning to live with their disease every day in hopes of finding happiness and balance. And while some of them have fully recovered, there are more than a few who admit they are always on guard for "triggers" that will send them spiraling.

Here's a look at some stars who have admitted that one way or another, they just can't seem to get enough sex!

One of the most unexpected revelations to come out of Jada Pinkett Smith's Red Table Talk Facebook series was that the hostess herself was addicted to sex when she was younger. Calling herself a "binger" when it comes to several areas of her life, she says she stopped cold turkey by forcing herself to confront the reasons that led to the behavior.

"I am a sex addict," Khloé Kardashian's ex wrote in his 2019 memoir, Darkness to Light, claiming he's bedded over 2,000 women and cheated on Khloé repeatedly during their four-year marriage. "That sick sin was hard for me to hide … I had a problem," Lamar Odom told People. Sex often triggered drug use, he said, and now he's recovering from both.

Though his Sunday Services are all about Jesus and all things pure, Kanye West has admitted to battling sex addiction that left him feeling like he was "drowning."

"Like for me Playboy was my gateway into full on pornography addiction," the dad admitted back in October about his former struggles. "My dad had a Playboy left out at age 5 and it's affected almost every choice I made for the rest of my life. From age 5 til now, having to kick the habit and it just presents itself in the open like it's OK and I stand up and say, 'No, it's not OK.'"

"It's like that was such a script out of a rock star's life. My mum had passed a year before and I said some people drown themselves in drugs. And I drowned myself in my addiction … sex."

Colin Farrell

The actor has been quite open about his love for women … among other things. In fact, this former bad boy once had a reputation that earned the Irishman the nickname "the Lusty Leprechaun." Colin eventually entered rehab, but not before a sex tape with Playboy Playmate Nicole Narain surfaced, fueling the fire. He told Elle magazine that having sex sober (post-rehab) was "terrifying."

Russell Brand

Russel Brand has claimed that sex was "recreational" for him. His habit even landed him the title "Shagger of the Year" in his native UK. Russell claims he had a harem of 10 women at one point in his life. The way he saw it, that was how he "relaxed."

We're so glad he changed his ways.

Back in 2014, actress Tori Spelling discovered that her husband Dean McDermott had an affair.

"I got a call from my publicist and she said, 'I just want to tell you something,'" Tori admitted in a clip via E! News. "'It's a girl, and she's claiming that she had an affair with Dean in Toronto when he was there. The girl has come forward. She's put her name to the story. She's giving all the details about her two-day affair with your husband in Toronto, and it's going to come out next week — Christmas.'"

By January, Dean entered rehab to manage with"health and personal issues," which turned out to be a sex addiction.

The actor came clean about his struggles with drug and sex addiction in his 2011 memoir, Love Life. He, too, had a sex tape scandal, except his involved a teenager — which made its release even more controversial. According to him, the scandal was the best thing that could have happened to him. After the tape surfaced, Rob entered treatment to help him battle his demons. He credits wife, Sheryl Berfkoff, for helping him battle his addictions.

The A-list actor has been sober for 25 years!

Former Playmate Nicole Narain once confessed that her sex and self-pleasuring addiction was so bad, she once couldn't leave her bed all day. She recalled her lowest points on the once Joy Behar Show:

"That was an exhausting day. It was like, I didn’t even want to eat food because that was my food for the day. It was exhausting and it was scary because it consumed my entire day and I try very hard not to have any triggers around me where I would feel like I need to masturbate today."

Nicole has been working on her recovery and says she tries to still avoid "triggers."

Well, titles can be deceiving. The former Miss Oregon Teen and Miss United States Teen was stripped of her crown after appearing in Playboy in 2004. She was also the third person in the nude homemade video of married actors Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart that was leaked. In 2009, Kari Ann appeared on Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew, but claims the reality show messed her up even more. Kari Ann decided to enter "real" rehab in Malibu where she sought treatment for crystal meth and presumably other demons.

In 2011, The X-Files leading man David Duchovny publicly admitted he was addicted to sex. In a case of life imitating art, the Californication star cheated on his then-wife, actress Tea Leoni, for years before entering rehab. It wasn't until his now ex-wife gave him an ultimatum that David finally sought treatment.

Sandra Bullock's famous ex checked himself into the Sierra Tuscon facility in Arizona, which specializes in drug and sex addiction, in 2010. But it wasn't be enough to save his marriage to America's sweetheart. If you're spending a whopping $53,000 on escorts, does that mean you're a sex addict? Charlie Sheen, who once said he's "winning" at life, has testified that he has slept with over 5,000 women. In 2015, he announced that he is HIV-positive.

Lindsay Lohan

La Lohan has confessed that she doesn't like sleeping alone, and while she has never admitted to being a sex addict, she's been accused of it by an ex in a tell-all with a now defunct British tabloid. Lindsay Lohan has been to rehab several times for drugs and alcohol, and her career took a major hit when her demons led to DUIs, probation violations, and eventually jail time.

Tiger Woods

It seems as if Tiger Woods' inability to remain faithful is responsible for the demise of yet another one of his relationships. The pro golfer and his ex-girlfriend, championship skier Lindsey Vonn, split in 2015. Lindsey claims that it was their busy schedules that led to the split, but sources claim it was Tiger's sexual encounters with many "nameless, faceless women." Still, does this make him a sex addict? The jury is out, though there have certainly been plenty of accusations that that's just what he is.

Robbie Williams

Britain's legendary bad boy of pop has always been candid about giving up his addiction to drugs, alcohol, and sex. Now married with three kids, he says being monogamous has been easy. "I don't put my head in the lion's mouth. I don't flirt," Robbie reveals. "And I don't go anywhere that would cause a problem for me and my wife."

Good plan, good results.

The Black-ish grandma said she used sex as a painkiller as a way to cope the symptoms of undiagnosed bipolar disorder as a theater actress in her 20s. "I was Cleopatra, Pam Grier, Marilyn Monroe, and Jezebel rolled into one," she wrote in her memoir, The Mother of Black Hollywood. "For me, nothing could extend the thrill of a standing ovation like great sex with a gorgeous guy."

It took her therapist five years to convince her to take medication.

Mike Caussin

The former football player and his country singer wife, Jana Kramer, revealed on her podcast that he had gone to sex rehab in 2016 after relapsing several times. Though he never called himself a sex addict, wouldn't this legendary basketball star qualify? In his 1991 memoir, Wilt Chamberlain claimed to have slept with 20,000 women. That would be 1.4 women a day from age 15 to age 55, when the book was published.

… which would mean that he was definitely thinking about sex … a lot.
