20 Times the Royal Kids Were Totally Over Their Parents

Most of us would be thrilled if our parents also happened to be the future King and Queen of England. But alas, that's not our life, so we don't really know how we'd feel. Like, for instance, generally speaking, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis seem like happy kids. But sometimes, they definitely seem annoyed with their dad and mom, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Because parents, plain and simple, can be annoying.

While we don't — not even for a split second — have any doubts about the kind of parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are, we do know an irritated child when we see one. And make no mistake about it, people: There have been times when George, Charlotte, and Louis have been seriously over their mom and dad. And who can blame them?! Parents sometimes suck all the fun out of things!

From not wanting to wave after enduring a long flight to running away when William wants to play, here are 20 times the royal Cambridge tots have obviously been annoyed with their parents.

Louis Was Over It

Clearly, Louis wasn't super into his parents making him partake in Trooping the Colour. And who can blame him? It's a lot for a little guy, especially since there's no way he understood what was going on at this massive event. He had to be getting bored!

'Say Hello'

When you're not in the mood to say hi, but your dad is trying to instill some manners — yep, all kids have been there, whether they're royal or not. Sorry, William, this is just the way it goes. The kids aren't going to want to be "on" all the time.

When Louis was spotted at a charity polo match back when he was still a baby, he was seen trying to crawl off of his mother's lap. Not that we can blame him — after all, babies are very curious little creatures, and it looks like his big sister and brother were having fun.

'Don't Tell Me What To Do'

When Kate asked Charlotte to wave to a crowd of people at the King's Cup Regatta, she was having no part of it. Instead, she did something very typical of kids her age — stuck out her tongue at the crowd. She's a cheeky little girl, and we wouldn't have her any other way.

Being Cleaned Up

Charlotte was obviously irritated with Kate when she tried cleaning and fixing her up at a polo match. And as moms ourselves, we have to admit that her efforts were probably a bit futile. They were playing outside, after all.

Tantrum Time

And of course who could ever forget the time Charlotte was so mad at Kate for taking something away from her that she threw a tantrum on the tarmac? Tantrums happen when you're raising kids — we're sure that Kate wished it had happened somewhere a bit more private, though.

Over It

While Charlotte was sticking out her tongue at people, George was straight-up done at the King's Cup Regatta. Though a day out on a boat sounds like a blast to us, there were probably a hundred things George would have rather been doing. Hurry up, Mom and Dad!

Bored to Tears

Another Trooping the Colour, another opportunity to see the royal kids bored and ready to go. Does George look like he's having fun on the balcony of Buckingham Palace? No. No, he does not. Maybe this is something he'll appreciate when he's older.

'Not Again, Dad'

Traveling with kids is never an easy task, and we can only imagine it gets more difficult when you're doing it with an audience. Obviously, George wasn't too jazzed about the idea of getting off a plane and greeting people a few years back. Understandable.

Not Enjoying Crowds

Sure, he lives a super exciting life, but obviously George isn't a huge fan of public functions. We have to give him credit, though — we've seen him play along plenty of times, so it's totally understandable if he has an off day every once in a while.

Church Time

When your parents make you go to Christmas Day church service when you'd rather be at home playing with your new toys, it results in kids who are making faces like this. Cheer up, kids. Treats are coming. Do they have any idea the number of people who would love to go to Sandringham with their great-grandmother?

'Stop, Mom'

When your mom wants a sweater over your dress, but you're not having it. We've fought this battle with our own kids so many times that we can just imagine Kate's frustration, but Charlotte obviously wanted to be playing instead of putting on more clothes.

Sorry, Kate.

Bor-ing!

Ugh, not another Trooping the Colour, Mom and Dad. Seriously?! After seeing all these photos, we have a feeling that this is one royal event that the kids would rather miss out on. Maybe next time they're able to host the event, the little ones can stay home?

Low-Key Wave

George and Charlotte pulled it together here, but obviously they weren't super amped to be waving to people. Honestly, we get it when we think about the number of strangers they're expected to look happy to meet on a regular basis. Come on, give them a break!

Running Away

Kate may be the Duchess of Cambridge, but to son George, she's just a woman who's trying to stop him from going where he wants to go. He might be much older now, but we still get the vibe from him that he just wants his freedom. Let the child run!

'OK, Fine, Dad'

George almost looked annoyed when William took him out of his car seat to meet Charlotte for the first time. To be fair, he probably couldn't comprehend how awesome becoming a big brother is — all he knew was that his dad was dragging him somewhere again.

'Stop!'

Was George waving here or telling everyone to stop? We kind of think the latter, but as long as it could be passed off as a wave, we're sure William was satisfied. Sometimes the kids look super psyched to see the crowds who gather to see them, and sometimes … they don't.

'Where Are We Going Now?'

George is proof here that no toddler likes being dragged around by his parents. They just want to be free! Not to mention the fact that this was taken when the family was off to his sister Charlotte's christening — not exactly an exciting event for a little one.

Snow Charlotte

Sure, Charlotte looks adorable here, but also … kind of like she wants to get out of that snowsuit, as well as her mom's arms. Ski vacations are a lot of fun, but kids just want to be playing in the snow — not taking family photos with their parents.

Run Away!

We loved this video of all of the royal kids — but we especially loved Charlotte running away from William. Classic kiddo! All parents know what it's like to have to chase after their kids, and we love the playful relationship between the Cambridges.
