Although some people are definitely against cosmetic procedures, other celebrities can't get enough — and plenty of them aren't hiding the work they've had done, either. It can be scary to go under the knife, but for a lot of people, it can also be life-changing. (Hey, if they want to enhance their features, more power to them.) Where celebrities are concerned, their budgets help make these kinds of procedures even more accessible, especially when they're buddies with the best surgeons around. And surprisingly, a lot of them haven't been shy about the times they've gotten a little nip and tuck.
The range of procedures that celebs have had is pretty far-reaching. Many of them have opted for nose jobs and breast augmentation, while others have only gone so far as to have injections and fillers (à la Kylie Jenner). Others, like Amy Schumer, have even gotten liposuction.
In the end, the decision to get plastic surgery is a personal one, and we totally get why it's a choice that some people make — especially when, as an actor or a musician, it's practically in their job description to look good. And while some regret their choices, others couldn't have been happier with the results.
Read on for all the celebrities who've gotten cosmetic surgery and have been upfront about it. It can be hard to remember how unrealistic Hollywood beauty standards are when scrolling through our Instagram feeds, but finding out about the procedures that some of our favorite stars have had is a good reminder that sometimes, beauty comes at a high price.
Cardi B
Rapper Cardi B has never been shy about admitting that she's had plastic surgery — or shutting down people who try to shame her for it. During an Instagram Live in 2019, she opened up about how she's fine with her boob job, because she doesn't have any time to shape her body the way she wants.
"Listen, I do whatever the f— I want to do with my body," she said, according to HuffPost. "Let me tell you something. I don't have the time of day like you do. Like, my job as an entertainer is a 24-hour job, bro. So no, I don't have time to work out and I wanted specific things that I know that no matter how much I work out — is not get fixed. Like my boobs, no matter how much I work out, they were not gonna lift themselves."
Fair enough!
Tyra Banks
America's Next Top Model queen Tyra Banks has never held back when it comes to the nose job she got earlier in her career. And it sounds like she has absolutely no regrets.
"I had bones in my nose that were growing and itching," Tyra told People in 2018. "I could breathe fine, but I added cosmetic surgery. I admit it! Fake hair, and I did my nose. I feel I have a responsibility to tell the truth. Fix it or flaunt it — I think women should be able to do both."
Britney Spears
In an interview for the January 2014 cover of In Style, Britney admitted that she's had lip injections — and as far as cosmetic surgeries go, that's a pretty mild one. Then again, she did say that her doctor does "fun stuff" to her sometimes.
"A doctor I see, Dr. Kanodia, does fun stuff to me — I've had lip injections before," she admitted at the time.
Jenni 'JWoww' Farley
When JWoww shared these side-by-side transformation photos, she was open about the fact that she did more than get older between these two pics. In fact, the Jersey Shore star admitted that fillers were involved.
"In honor of hitting 7 million followers, I shall post this amazing glow-up … from looking like I haven't showered … to contour, filters and fillers … but always the same expression," she wrote on Instagram in 2019.
Betty White
Even the great, late Betty White went under the knife. The Golden Girls star once admitted that she had eyelid surgery to have a more youthful appearance. "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature, but in 1976 I had my eyelids done," she said, according to Perez Hilton. "I scolded myself forever, but now I'm glad I did it."
Kylie Jenner
After denying it for months, Kylie Jenner eventually revealed that she did get her lips done after all — not that her fans hadn't already guessed that was the case.
"I have temporary lip fillers. It's just an insecurity of mine and it's what I wanted to do," Kylie said on a 2015 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, reported ABC News. "I'm just not ready to talk to reporters about my lips yet because everyone always picks us apart."
She's not wrong about that!
Naya Rivera
In her memoir, Sorry Not Sorry, the late actress Naya Rivera copped to getting her boobs done — even before her Glee days, back when she was in high school.
"My new boobs were a confidence thing, not a sexual thing," she wrote, according to Life & Style. "I'd never even taken my top off for a guy. I hadn't had many opportunities to do so, but even if I had, my bra was always stuffed with napkins."
Ariel Winter
Modern Family star Ariel Winter has been open about the fact that she got a breast reduction, and in a 2017 interview with Self, she called it the "greatest choice I made."
"It was hard for me to not fall prey to wanting to change the way I felt and the way I did things and the way I looked because of what other people said," Ariel explained. "But as I got older, I started to realize that as long as I'm positive in my life and as long as I feel good about my decisions and stick to how I feel and the things I want to do, that's what's most important."
Kelly Rowland
In 2013, former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland said in an interview with Shape that she has gotten her boobs done — but she waited until the right time, with a little advice from her own mom and Tina Knowles.
"I wanted to get breast implants when I was 18, but my mom and Beyoncé's mom told me to really think about it first," Kelly told the outlet, according to HuffPost. "I took their advice and waited 10 years."
Sounds like a solid plan!
Anna Faris
In an interview with Women's Health in 2018, Anna Faris opened up about getting breast implants after her divorce from Ben Indra. It was a transitional period in her life, and she wanted to do something that made her feel good.
"I was always a negative-A cup, so when I was 30, I was getting a divorce, I had just finished House Bunny, and I'd sold another movie," she said. "All of these new things were happening to me, so I got my breasts done. It was f—ing awesome."
She added that while she never thought she would do something like that, she wanted to be able to fill out a bikini. That's as good a reason as any!
Kourtney Kardashian
Kourtney Kardashian got breast implants when she was younger, but she now regrets them.
"I wish I never did it," Kourtney told Cosmopolitan in 2016, adding, "I had great boobs. Now I'm gonna have to get them redone at some point. I like to look like myself. I like imperfections, but you also want to look your best. I think lasers would be a good place to start if I was feeling like doing something."
Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy Teigen has always kept it real, and that goes for her cosmetic procedures, too. "Everything about me is fake except my cheeks," she joked at a 2017 event for her collaboration with Becca cosmetics, according to Byrdie (via E! News). She also added that she's had her "armpits sucked out," and that's definitely not something she regrets.
"It added two inches of length to my arms. [That fat] is coming back, though, so I might need to go in and pay for it again," she said.
Courteney Cox
Friends star Courteney Cox has admitted to regretting her procedures, and as she told New Beauty in 2017, it's mostly because she realized her fillers looked worse in pictures than they did in real life.
"I've had all my fillers dissolved. I'm as natural as I can be," she said. "I feel better because I look like myself. I think that I now look more like the person that I was. I hope I do."
Since then, Courteney has said that she's really embraced aging for the natural process that it is.
Heidi Montag
Heidi Montag is practically famous for the plastic surgery procedures she underwent at 23, but now, she knows better. She told Cosmo that the pressure of being on TV got to her, and that she was "way too young to make such a life-changing decision."
"I was also on TV where every perceived flaw is amplified," she noted. "I think I looked in the mirror a little too much. I wish I had waited and not made a decision so young because I have long-term health complications."
Iggy Azalea
During a 2018 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Iggy opened up about the nose job she had in 2015.
"There was nothing wrong with me," she said on the show, according to People. "I think it's a personal choice and anybody, man or woman, they should be able to make an informed decision, and if you want to change something, then that's up to you."
Victoria Beckham
Add former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham to the list of celebs who regret their plastic surgery. In a letter to her younger self that she wrote for British Vogue in 2016, she advised the old her not to "mess with" her boobs.
"I should probably say, don't mess with your boobs," she wrote. "All those years I denied it — stupid. A sign of insecurity. Just celebrate what you've got."
Kaley Cuoco
In a 2016 interview with Women's Health, Kaley Cuoco said that her cosmetic procedures — which include a breast augmentation, a nose job, and fillers — were "the best thing" she ever did.
"Years ago, I had my nose done. And my boobs — best thing I ever did," she told the mag. "Recently I had a filler in a line in my neck I've had since I was 12. I don't think you should do it for a man or anyone else, but if it makes you feel confident, that's amazing."
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro
During an appearance on The Doctors, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro opened up about his liposuction procedure that would help him maintain his six pack, even without a strict workout routine and diet. He decided to go pay the high price and deal with the painful recovery so he could spend more time with his daughter instead of at the gym.
"I've always been a workout fanatic, and I've also always been in shape, but it takes a lot of hard work to stay in shape," Ronnie said on the show. "One year ago today, my life completely changed. I had a little baby girl. She's like my guardian angel, and now I can't spend two to three hours every day in the gym like I used to."
Julie Chen
Julie Chen has been open about the fact that she's had plastic surgery to make her eyes bigger because she was told she'd never make it as a news anchor with the shape of her eyes "because you're Chinese." Still, she doesn't regret it, as she wrote in a piece for Glamour in 2016.
"To this day, I have no regrets about the surgery. I don't live my life with regrets," she wrote. "I stand by my decisions and any bad ones I have made, I learn from them. The surgery doesn't define who I am; it's just a chapter in my life. It didn't change who I am or how I live. I don't look in the mirror and see a different person who I don't recognize. I'm just me, and I feel good about that."
Lisa Kudrow
Lisa Kudrow once revealed that she got a nose job while she was still in high school, and she told the Saturday Evening Post that it ended up being a life-altering decision for her — in a good way.
"I went from, in my mind, hideous, to not hideous," Lisa told the outlet, according to ABC News. "I did it the summer before going to a new high school. So there were plenty of people who wouldn't know how hideous I looked before. That was a good, good, good change."
Bella Hadid
Bella Hadid has also been open about getting plastic surgery — and the fact that she now regrets it, since it was outside pressures to measure up to sister Gigi that convinced her to do it.
"I was the uglier sister," she said in a 2022 interview with Vogue. "I was the brunette. I wasn't as cool as Gigi, not as outgoing. That's really what people said about me. And unfortunately, when you get told things so many times, you do just believe it."
Amy Schumer
In January 2022, Amy posted this photo to Instagram, copping to getting liposuction done (and proud of it). "Never thought I would do anything, but talk to me after your uterus doesn't contract for 2.5 years and you turn 40," she wrote in her caption.
Khloé Kardashian
After a lot of speculation, Khloé Kardashian finally admitted to the plastic surgery she's had done during a June 2021 Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion. At the time, she confessed to a nose job and some injections (but not Botox), though she didn't go into the specifics.
