Long before she officially became a member of the royal family after marrying Prince Harry, Meghan Markle has been a style icon. Although her warm weather looks always kill it, the Duchess of Sussex always seems to look her best when it's cold outside — and in England, that tends to happen frequently, which is good news for her! Over the last few years, Meghan has sported a lot of coats (more than we could ever dream of keeping in our closets!) and somehow, each one of them is always on point! How does she do it?
She hasn't been a royal for too long, but Meghan has gotten into the groove for dressing for the cameras that surround her constantly … especially when there's a chill in the air. This lady was made for winter fashion, and it's easy to see.
Here are some of the duchess's best winter coat looks. Whether she's just bundling up for the cold weather or she's using her coat as the perfect way to tie her outfits together. Sometimes, she's going for a more formal look, while other times, she's keeping it casual while traveling or touring around with Harry. But no matter what the occasion calls for, Meghan always shows up looking like she just walked out of a magazine — not that we'd expect anything less from her!

A Day of Remembrance
For the 2019 Remembrance Day service, Meghan brought out this dark coat and matching hat. It was a solemn day, but that doesn't mean she couldn't look just as stylish as she always does while dressing appropriately for the occasion. After all, this is Meghan.
Wearing All Black
Meghan's other Remembrance Day outfit was also on point. We're loving that hat and the belt on her coat — both really make a statement. And of course, Meghan has always looked great in dark colors, so pulling off an all black look is nothing to her!
Draped Over the Shoulders
Meghan was all smiles when she draped this camel colored coat over a bottle green dress. These colors went so well together! And even though we're totally focused on the coat here, we've gotta admit her hair looks amazing.
Nice & Cozy
Meghan's variety of coats continues, this time with a style that's different from the ones she usually wears. This oversized black coat is super chic, and we love the buttons. This one could go with absolutely anything in our closets — think she'll let us borrow it?
Pretty in White
Is is just us, or is this one of Meghan's most royal looks ever? Maybe it's the long, white coat over the silvery dress, or maybe it's the hat. Either way, she looks fab — and more like a duchess than she ever has before!
Going Green
Some people might not be fans of matchy-matchy looks like this one, but on Meghan, it totally works. The green color is gorgeous, and so are the embroidery accents on both the coat and the dress. This is a perfect look for the holidays!
Shiny & Happy
Now, we're into Meghan's bump days, and yes, she was totally glowing! This shiny dress looked so good with her white coat and heels — and the giant grin on her face is a complement to her outfit. The perfect look for a night out with Harry.
Travel Day
This photo was snapped while Meghan was traveling home to NYC, and even when she's on the go, she still looks amazing. This caramel colored coat was paired with a more casual, all black outfit, complete with baseball cap. But somehow, it pulled the whole look together.
Out & About in NYC
During Meghan's trip to NYC in 2018, she went more for street chic than the royal fashion she dresses for back in England. This coat and glasses made her look like a total celebrity — which, of course, she is. Her bag is adorable, too.
White on White
Another well-coordinated look from Meghan, again in all white. She's brave for wearing this in public — for most of us, wearing all white is a bad idea, especially if we plan to eat that day. As always, she pulled it off flawlessly.
Coat & Scarf
This is definitely a different look from Meghan, but we love it. The coordinating black coat and scarf really made for an unforgettable fashion moment from her, and it seems like an easy way to look put together without putting too much effort in. We need to take a page out of her book this winter!
Showing Off Her Bump
This neutral look was perfect for really emphasizing Meghan's bump while she was still pregnant with Archie. The coat and the dress being the exact same length really elevated the look, and we're really loving that neckline on Meghan.
A Pop of Color
Meghan tends to typically go for neutrals and earth tones, so this look was a departure from her usual looks. But that doesn't mean that it didn't look great on her! The red and purple are so pretty together, and we love how happy Meghan is here, too.
A Coat for Christmas
When Meghan and Kate went to church service on Christmas in 2018, they both looked totally on point. Meghan's darker coat went so well with Kate's brighter one — we wonder if they planned it? And we really can't get enough of Meghan's boots.
Looking Good in Gray
Another bump look with a coat, and we're loving it just as much as we have loved all the others. This gray coat plays off the colors of her dress so well, and we're loving the different necklines here. She was the most beautiful mama-to-be.
Purple Tones
If we've learned anything by now, it's that Meghan kills it every time when it comes to monochromatic looks. This coat and dress are adorable, and we love the color on her. She should bring this look back this winter!
Keeping It Casual
Let this photo serve as proof that everyone needs a basic puffer jacket in their closet! We have a feeling this one isn't quite what most of us can afford, but it is pretty similar. And when hiking in the woods in New Zealand, she couldn't have picked a better choice.
Switching Things Up
The collar on this coat is to die for, and it really completes her all black look with a different shade. It's a simple, classy look, and so timeless all at the same time. We love the boots that Meghan has accessorized with as well — and the pulled-back hairstyle.
Looking Happy in Khaki
This looks like a lady who loves her outfit, and we can't blame her! As if the skirt and top weren't cute enough, her oversized blazer-style coat really pulls it all together. Whatever she was so happy about at the time, we approve.
A Well-Coordinated Couple
Have we mentioned how much we love when Harry and Meghan coordinate their style? Here, they're both looking stunning in navy. And even though Meg usually likes to keep it simple, we love the contrast of the blue and white on her coat.
