35 Times Kate Middleton Worked Her Tiny Waist in a Perfectly Fitted Dress

As much as we've always loved Kate Middleton's style, what we really can't get enough of are the Duchess of Cambridge's dresses. Whether we're talking about Kate's sundresses or her more formal looks, she always looks perfect for the occasion — and it helps that she's always dressed to accentuate her best features, especially her waist. We don't doubt that Kate works for her awesome body, and she absolutely should show it off. In fact, in certain outfits, Kate was totally working her waist, and if we looked like her, we'd be doing it too!

Whether Kate's attending a formal event with Prince William on her arm, spending the day watching tennis matches at Wimbledon, or anything in between, she always selects the perfect look, and sometimes, that look does an excellent job of reminding us that Kate has a waist to die for. Of course, there's something to love about all body types, and just like everyone else, Kate should be proud to flaunt what she's got — and more often than not, it totally seems she is.

Here are all the times that Kate flawlessly worked her waist. Of course, it helps that she probably has the assistance of professional stylists … and it can't hurt that the camera loves her. But either way, Kate definitely gets credit for looking this good no matter where she's going or what she's doing. Maybe she should start offering lessons on this kind of thing?

We can't wait to see what looks this member of the royal family comes up with in the future. We hope Kate continues to work it for years.

Every time Kate goes to Wimbledon — which pretty much happens every year — she kills it. This time, she wore a pretty emerald green dress that really showed off her waist. She looks so happy, and that's what we like to see!

Even when she's out exploring a garden, Kate looks flawless. This blue-green dress was perfect for the occasion, and it shows off her figure so well. Can she please share all of her flattering outfit secrets with us?!

Out for the Night

Hitting the town? Of course Kate dresses to impress. This cream-colored, off-the-shoulder sweater dress looks comfy and cute, while being perfect for a formal occasion at the same time. It's rare to find all those qualities in one dress. And, as always, her hair is flawless. Look at those curls!

Going all Green

This lady consistently kills it when she wears emerald green, and this dress was no exception. Not only is it such a flattering shape on her, but we also love that neckline. If Kate only wanted to wear greens and blues for the rest of her life, we wouldn't blame her.

A Belted Look

We're fully convinced that Kate could wear a trash bag and look good, but there's something about this gray belted dress on her that we really love. Not only does it look good on her, but that belt also really adds a little extra to the look that makes it all come together.

Celebrating Women in Finance

When it's time for a formal occasion, Kate always brings her A-game! Here she is in the prettiest pink dress — and it cinches in at her waist to create the perfect shape. For a gala celebrating women, this lady might have been the best dressed one.

A Christmas Day Coat

When getting ready to celebrate Christmas service, Kate pulled out the perfect red coat. Even though it can be easy to get lost in a coat, this one still manages to show off Kate's figure. And for the record, Meghan Markle looks great as well — but then again, she always does.

Turning Heads In Turquoise

Everything about this turquoise dress is lovely, from the neckline to the waistline to the pleated skirt. This color really brings out Kate's eyes, and it's such a pretty look. This is definitely a dress she should consider rewearing.

A Formal Event

Speaking of gorgeous turquoise dresses, here's another one. Will and Kate shine when it's time for a formal occasion, but that's no surprise to us! We love the neckline on this dress — and the way the belt really pulled her look together.

A Pop of Purple

This purple dress looks amazing on Kate! It's such a pretty color, and we love the structure of it. Because it is such a bright color, we love that Kate kept her accessories simple. She knows what she's doing when it comes to putting together an outfit!

All Sunshine

When it comes to bright colors, this yellow dress kinda puts the purple one to shame. Although Kate typically goes for more muted colors, we love this dress on her — and we know she must have turned some heads at Wimbledon while wearing it.

On a Rainy Day

Even on a rainy day — when most of us would be pulling on leggings and rain boots — Kate still has style. This floral dress is so pretty on her, and we love that it has shape without being too form-fitting. She's definitely brightening things up everywhere she goes on a gloomy day.

A Sunny Sundress

In direct contrast to Kate's rainy day look, here's another adorable yellow dress. The sleeves and the waistline on this yellow sundress are to die for. And can we just mention how good her hair looks? She's killing it.

Trying a Different Look

This look is such a departure from what Kate normally wears, but we love it all the same. The color isn't one that's typically in Kate's wheelhouse, but she should definitely wear it more often. And those off-the-shoulder sleeves? Gorgeous.

Pretty In Polka Dots

img-of-media-slide-322027-2.png

It's another flawless Wimbledon look. We haven't gotten to see Kate sport polka dots all that much, but when she does, she looks so cute — especially when her hair was cut to a long bob, like it is here. She should definitely wear this dress again!

All Business

Max Mumby/Indigo/Getty Images

This very structured, patterned dress looks like Kate's about to make some serious business deals happen! And is it just us, or does it look very Mad Men? We love the red clutch as well — the whole look is so different for Kate but so well put-together.

In Her Evening Gown

Whether Kate's getting ready for a formal night out or a day fulfilling royal duties, she always picks the right look, and this gown is no exception. Not only is her hair gorgeous like this (she needs to wear these curls more often!) but the black lacy dress and sweetheart neckline also are so pretty on her.

Radiant in Blue

We've never seen a dress that coordinates with Kate's engagement ring so well. And on top of that, it's another belted look that we absolutely love. This silhouette is so lovely on her, and it's a bonus that she was having a good hair day at the time.

Just Like Cinderella

img-of-media-slide-322031-2.png

What better fellow princess to emulate when going in front of a crowd than one of the classics? Kate's Cinderella blue dress is so gorgeous. It looks like it can work for day or night, and of course, it accentuates her waist in a perfect way.

Soft Florals

We just can't get enough of Kate in a floral dress. This vintage style pattern is so cute, and the shape of the dress is pretty. She should keep showing off her waist as long as she wants — this royal mama definitely has it going on.

Lady in Red

Though Kate rarely makes use of the color red, when she does, it's always worth it! The combination of the fit of this dress and the patterns that go together so perfectly is gorgeous on her. It was the perfect fall look when she wore it in September 2020.

A Cute Summer Look

When visiting Baby Basics in August 2020, Kate wore this white dress for what was a rare public appearance from her during a year when the royals were mostly working at home. Not only was she working her waist, but she was also having a good hair day. (Though, for Kate, isn't every day a good hair day?)

Ireland Style

During Will and Kate's early 2020 tour of Ireland, Kate pulled out some of her very best green looks, including this dress. That belt really adds a little something extra, giving her dress a shape that it might not have had without the perfect accessory.

Her BAFTAs Best

Kate Middleton is an outfit repeater … and we mean that in the best way possible! Here, she's rewearing a dress at the BAFTAs, but it might as well be brand-new. The cut of the dress (and that adorable neckline) really shows off her waist quite well.

Grinning From Ear to Ear

The first thing that we notice about this photo (after seeing how happy Kate is to be at the Victoria & Albert Museum, of course) is how interesting her dress is. Like the others, it cuts her perfectly at the waist, but it also proves that gray doesn't have to mean boring!

Trooping the Colour 2019

Events such as Trooping The Colour usually require a bit more of a formal look (hat included) from the royals, but in 2019, Kate didn't let the dress code make her look drab. In her pale yellow suit, the fitted waist makes all the difference.

Black Florals

When attending a gala in the evening, one must look her best, and Kate definitely understood the assignment at this event! This black floral dress is a bit different from her usual style, but it certainly made her (and her waist) stand out.

Shimmering Seafoam Green

Like we said earlier, Kate always pulls out her very best green looks when she visits Ireland, and that was true during her 2017 visit with William. This seafoam green gown is simply ethereal on her, showing off her waist while still remaining conservative enough to make the Queen happy.

BAFTAs Best

Is it just us, or does Kate consistently pull out all the stops at the BAFTAs? At the 2019 awards, she wore this off-the shoulder-white gown. It's not what we'd normally expect to see from Kate on the red carpet, but as always, she pulled it off.

Going to a Wedding

Why do Will and Kate look so happy in this photo from 2018? Because they were headed to Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank, of course! Kate looked stunning in her bright pink outfit, showing off her waist once again. Looks like they were having fun!

A Fun Summer Dress

This photo was taken while Kate was cheering on Harry and Will at a charity polo match in 2019, and even though it was a casual day hanging out with Meghan and the kids, she still looked her best. This light, floral dress was perfect for a summer day.

Perfectly Flowy

While visiting a children's photography workshop, Kate kept it a bit casual — for her, anyway! She wore this pretty, flowy dress that tied at the waist, helping her to get a more boho-style look without sacrificing her shape.

One of the things Kate's best at is following the Queen's more conservative dress code while also looking amazing at the same time. Even in this long dress with sleeves and a high neckline, that tie around the waist makes sure it still shows off her figure.

Totally Royal

When we imagine modern royalty, we think of this photo! Of course, at the Royal Ascot each year, bringing one's wardrobe to the next level is expected, and Kate really came through with this blue dress. Once again, she's totally covered up in a Queen-approved way, but she's still working that waist.

A Sparkling Evening

When Kate got all dressed up for a reception being held during the January 2020 UK-Africa Investment Summit, she did not hold back. This is another one of her boldest evening gown looks, and of course, it included a dress that was fitted at the waist. Perfection!
