There's no better reason to wear something fancy than for a classy shindig. Luckily, for the royal family, these seem to be plentiful. In fact, royal family members are expected to dress up — it's actually part of the rules! Even though there are rules in place, though, it doesn't mean that the royals can't dress in their own style. For instance, it seems Kate Middleton absolutely loves anything decorated with lace — and to boot, she looks amazing in it! Seriously — as if she hadn't achieved enough real-life fairy tale clout.
We can't help but be jealous of her wardrobe!
That's why we've made a whole dedication to the Duchess of Cambridge and her lacy looks. It's not like we haven't been envious of her closet before — the colors she coordinates into every outfit seems pretty fit for royalty! It's a fashion quirk that Queen Elizabeth has, and we get the feeling she's picked up on it. Aside from the broad array of colors she rocks, we just adore those big-hatted getups — the ones made for a tea party (obviously).
It seems as if there's no one more fashionable than Kate — although she appears to have some pretty stiff competition. Meghan Markle was just acclaimed for her "powerful" wardrobe. Honestly, they've got a point — but there's no need for pitting them against each other! At the end of the day, it's all about the lace — and royals just can't seem to get enough of it. We know we can't either, and that's why we've picked out our top lacy Kate pics!
Beauty in Black
Black and white gives a classic look on anything — movies, TV shows, etc. Even the men in the backdrop are sporting the colors! Kate Middleton makes vintage look modern in this gorgeous, ornately patterned gown.
Baby Blue
Where would the royals be without these fancy hats? The fact that it also matches her robin's egg dress is just too perfect. This is one of our favorite examples of how Kate Middleton makes lace look even classier than it is.
Cute Couple
This picture can't possibly be any sweeter. Aside from the fact that we're totally in love with Kate's dress, Prince William seems to be totally in love with her! He just can't keep his eyes off her — and with that sense of style, we understand why.
Red Carpet Ready
Kate Middleton knows exactly how to combine classy with chic. This long, cerulean gown is already a fancy number on its own, but the lace on the waist and sleeves gives it an extra bump of personality. Fabulous!
Fairy Tale Fashion
Is it just us, or does Kate look exactly like Grand Duchess Anastasia here? They both have a lot in common, aside from one being an animated princess. Lace just seems to bring out Kate's inner fairy tale look.
Practically Perfect
The Duchess of Cambridge is seriously serving us some Mary Poppins realness. Her attendance at the 2017 Royal Ascot definitely made the whole event brighter. White means purity, and lace means class. Together, they create a stunning ensemble!
Verdant and Vogue
There's something about this dress that makes us think of a forest. The way the lace is designed over the green gives off some gorgeous, nature vibes. Considering Kate is as pretty as a flower, it makes total sense.
Premiere Pretty
Attending any premiere is a breeze for Kate Middleton. She never has to fret about not having anything to wear, that's for sure! The real problem is deciding on which lovely lace gown to select for the event.
For the Children
Here's Kate speaking to Peter Fonagy, CEO of the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families. Forget about how beautiful those lace sleeves look — she's getting some seriously important work done!
Birthday Beaut
The Queen's 90th birthday celebration, of course, went off without a hitch. There's definitely an unspoken dress code when it comes to looking nice for the Queen. Needless to say, the Duchess absolutely stunned in this white-and-blue outfit!
Silver Belle
Just in time for the holiday season, Kate is bringing us some silver belle vibes in this classy number. The outfit shows how far a bit of lace trim can go. Whether it's the whole dress or just a lace cover, it really does pull any outfit together.
Posh Purple
The Duchess of Cambridge is seriously slaying in purple. It is a historically royal color, after all! It doesn't seem as if the rain is getting to Kate. We wouldn't be pouting either if we had a wardrobe that lovely.
Divine Design
We're still not over how ornate the design on this dress is. There seem to be some seriously talented designers across the pond. We could spend all day wondering how much her dresses cost — or we could do the easier thing and just enjoy them.
Blush Duchess
Whether Kate is wearing lace or not, the one thing she does always seem to be wearing is a smile. She's as sweet as a peach — and the same color suits her. We would give anything to have one ounce of the style Kate does!
Royal Blue
This is the definition of royal blue — literally! There's nothing more fitting than an actual duchess wearing a color this vibrant. The lace adds an extra layer of classiness, obviously. Rock it, Kate — we see that smile.
Sultry Stitches
The white in this dress is so bright, it almost makes the dress look like it's black. A closer look will reveal its true color, though, as a deep, mesmerizing blue. There's so much to love about this look, we can't even name all it all!
India Nights
There's so much color and personality to this dress! It has the beauty and style of a peacock's feathers, but all the class that lace has to bring. Kate must have had an amazing time on her (very fashionable) visit to India.
Paparazzi Dodging
It's hard for royals to dodge pictures, especially when everything they wear is so captivating! Everywhere Kate goes, people are going to be clambering to get her photo. A lace dress is picture-perfect for these occasions.
Class Act
What's classier than a lace dress? Maybe a champagne glass in hand for added measure. Also, we're totally in love with the sparkles on this gown. There's no question that Kate is the belle of the ball for any event!
Wedding Day
Last but not least, who could forget this amazing gown? Kate Middleton's wedding dress was definitely something to be envious of. That intricate lace is enough to take anyone's breath away. Here's to more royal weddings!
