Over the years, Prince William and Kate Middleton have been known to share adorable family photos in honor of certain holidays, and as their kids get older, one of them in particular is boasting a pretty strong family resemblance. In one photo from years past, not only could people not get over how grown up all of the royal kids looked, but there's also a new obsession taking place over the photos: how much Princess Charlotte looks like Princess Diana.

This is the photo in question.
It was originally shared in honor of the 38th birthday of Prince William — then the Duke of Cambridge. The caption read: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new picture of The Duke with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis ahead of The Duke’s birthday tomorrow."
Here's where things get wild, though. Check out how much Charlotte and young Diana look alike.
Although they don't have all of the same features necessarily, they do have the same signature smile and are tilting their heads in the exact same way. It's quite apparent they both possess a certain amount of cheekiness. Really, it's quite sweet. Prince William must be thrilled to think that his only daughter takes after his late mother.
Some royal fans were all over the similarities between Charlotte and Diana.
Royal fans weighed in on — where else? — X (formerly Twitter) about the resemblance Princess Charlotte shares at this age with Princess Diana when she was younger. And, to be honest, it also seemed as if people very much wanted to see a similarities between the two. Really, any connection between William and Kate's children is a good one, no?

Of course, not everyone agreed.
Many people seemed to be seriously offended that people were saying Princess Charlotte looks like Princess Diana. The main reason? Many royal fans think Charlotte looks exactly like the late Queen Elizabeth. In addition to the comments above, one person commented: "She looks exactly like her grandmother the Queen, not Diana."
OK, then.
We all know who Princess Charlotte REALLY looks like, though ...
Her dad, Prince William (who, to be fair, does look like his mother)! In fact, a few months ago, the duke even mistook a childhood photo of himself for Princess Charlotte. That's how much they look alike.
Queen Elizabeth, Diana, William — regardless of who Charlotte looks like most, she's dang adorable.
