The Los Angeles Coroner’s office has released a startling new detail about Aaron Carter's last moments. According to a new report, there was no water found in his lungs, which rules out the initial theory that he'd drowned in the bathtub where his body was found. Now, his family is looking for answers about what could've taken his life.
Aaron's loved ones are updating TMZ after the new details emerged.
Aaron's fiancée, Melanie Martin joined his mother, Jane, in talking to TMZ about the latest news from county officials. They revealed that the coroner found zero water in Aaron's lungs, which rules out their earlier theory.
Now, Melanie and Jane want answers about what could've happened, and whether or not someone else was involved in the former teen heartthrob's untimely death at age 34.
Aaron was found by his housekeeper who called 911 for help.
In November, dispatchers received a phone call from the housekeeper who discovered Aaron's body in the tub where he'd apparently been for quite some time.
Once they confirmed Aaron was dead, they noted that they'd found prescription pills and multiple cans of compressed air — something some people use to huff to get high — scattered around his bedroom and bathroom.
Melanie seems to think there was foul play involved.
Aaron's fiancée went on to describe the text messages she found on Aaron's phone which she believes point to an altercation with a drug dealer.
According to her, the text messages, which she shared with authorities, include a back and forth between Aaron and someone else over an $800 drug. When Aaron told the sender he no longer needed the substance, the person shot back that he would still need to pay for it, no matter if he wanted the product or not.
Aaron seemed worried about the conversation.
It sounds like the tone of the exchange was menacing, because Melanie revealed that Aaron asked if he was being threatened before the conversation went silent.
The coroner's office is still waiting on a toxicology report to determine what (if any) substances were in Aaron's body at the time of his death.
This will remain a tragedy no matter what answers the family finds.
We doubt that there will ever be an answer that makes what happened easier for the family Aaron left behind, which includes his 1-year-old son, Prince.
Here's hoping that as details continue to emerge, Aaron's family is able to find closure as they move on from such an unexpected, tragic loss and are tasked with raising Aaron's little boy at the same time.
