Five months after Aaron Carter's unexpected death, the results of his autopsy are finally in. The Los Angeles County medical examiner has released Aaron's official cause of death, and although some people may have believed that foul play was involved, those rumors can now be put to rest.

Aaron's death has been ruled an accident.
TMZ was the first to report that the Los Angeles County medical examiner found that Aaron had become "incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects" of taking alprazolam (or generic Xanax) and inhaled compressed difluoroethane, likely via a can of compressed air, and drowned, leading to his death in November 2022.
The autopsy report provided a few more details about his death.

At the scene, multiple cans of Surf Onn compressed air were found, and near the bathtub were a sweatshirt, beanie, and pants. Investigators found the nozzle for one of the cans in the pocket on the sweatshirt, along with prescription bottles in the house.
Aaron's loved ones seem to believe that his death wasn't an accident.
In March, Aaron's mother, Jane Schneck, took to Facebook to share some rather gruesome photos of the bathroom where he was found dead as a way to push for a deeper investigation into what happened.
"Aaron had a lot of death threats and many many people who were making his life miserable," Jane wrote.

Aaron's fiancée says the results of the autopsy don't give her the answers she needs.
Melanie Martin — Aaron's fiancée and the mother of his child — issued a statement to TMZ saying that the autopsy did not help her find closure.
"The results of the autopsy are not closure for me. It claims death is by drowning but also adds he was wearing a t-shirt and necklace in the bathtub which doesn't make sense, why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on?" she said. "I am still in shock and still miss Aaron every day. I don’t understand the chain of events and this report only has us asking more questions."
Our thoughts are with Aaron's family.
There's no doubt that this has been a difficult time for them after losing someone they loved at just 34 years old. Hopefully, his family is being given the time and the space to heal privately now that the results of his autopsy have become public.
