Alabama Barker received a lot of luxurious gifts for Christmas, but what most people noticed about her lavish “Christmas haul” is that she received lingerie from her own dad, Travis Barker. Alabama is 20 years old, but the idea of giving your child lingerie is still pretty weird to many people, regardless of age. After her Christmas haul video sparked backlash, Alabama responded to the criticism in another video, defending her dad and insisting that her dad’s wife, Kourtney Kardashian, picked the lingerie out for her. Critics still find it weird though.

In her Christmas haul video shared on December 27, Alabama said, “Okay, so, my dad went a little crazy at Agent Provocateur. She held up boxes from the lingerie store and showed off the corsets, bras, and underwear that her dad gifted her. She also clarified that “Kourtney picked out most of it and then the girl knows me there so she like, gave recommendations of what I like.”
Understandably, people online found it pretty creepy. Even if Kourtney picked it out and Alabama asked for the lingerie, people still thought it was super inappropriate. One Redditor wrote, “JAIL JAIL JAIL.” Meanwhile, another parent said, “Idc how old my child gets, I will never want to buy her lingerie. This is creepy.”

After all, surely Travis could’ve purchased something else for his daughter? “Even if Kourtney picked out the stuff and he still paid why is LINGERIE the first thing and the best thing he thinks to buy his daughter,” someone else wrote. And as another person pointed out, gift cards are also a thing. “He could’ve just gotten her a gift card and let her go crazy if this was on her wish list. Ewwww,” they commented.
But Alabama insisted that it’s not weird.
After seeing all the negative comments, Alabama uploaded a follow-up video and insisted that the gift was actually very normal because Kourtney picked the items out and she had lingerie on her wishlist. Critics were not so convinced.
“Why the f— are you guys trying to make this lingerie thing a thing?” Alabama said in the follow-up video. “…Kourtney picked out the lingerie. Kourtney!”
She continued with, “You think my dad’s like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna go pick out my daughter lingerie?’ No! It was on my Christmas list, and he wanted to make it happen for me. So, he let Kourtney go pick out the lingerie. God forbid a girl wanted cute panties and bras. Like, literally, leave me alone.”

Some of Alabama’s followers defended both her and her family, saying she’s “grown” and it’s a “non-issue.” One person argued, “Everyone is different, and it sounds like they already knew she would enjoy the present. I don’t get why everyone is clutching their pearls about it.”
Others vehemently disagreed. “I would be mortified if either of my parents, including my step parents gave me lingerie,” someone else wrote. The fact that Alabama even asked her family for lingerie seemed weird to some people. “She clearly put it on her Christmas list for her family, also weird,” a critic wrote.
But some were relieved to hear that Kourtney picked it out. One of them said, “I am glad she cleared up that it wasn’t her dad picking anything out, and that it was just Kourtney, because people were genuinely creeped out, myself included, that her dad was picking out lingerie.”
