Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben this week after months of speculation that the two were splitting.
The filing took place on August 20 — exactly two years after Ben and J.Lo celebrated their big Georgia wedding with their friends and family after getting legally married in Las Vegas earlier that summer.
TMZ was the first to report that J.Lo listed their date of separation as April 26, 2024.
The quote was shared by A-Rod the very same day.
Though his post on his Instagram Stories on August 20 has since expired, the quote was originally shared from a post by a business called the con.cept — and it's something Alex himself has said.
"You either go one way or the other, you might as well be the one deciding the direction," read the quote.
Some people believe that Alex's quote was directed at his ex.
J.Lo and A-Rod dated for two years before the former MLB player popped the question during a trip to the Bahamas in 2019, only to call off their romance in April 2021.
And now, some fans on X (formerly Twitter) think that A-Rod is hinting at his ex's divorce with his post.
One person wrote, "Bitter ex with no dignity."
It may not be related to Jennifer, though.
A source close to Alex told People that his post "has nothing to do" with Jennifer, so it's likely he was just sharing a post where he was quoted and it all just happened to be a coincidence.

Besides, Alex has moved on.
