Fans have questions after seeing a “cringe” viral clip of Alison Brie and Dave Franco. During what appeared to be a cozy date in a park, Alison was spotted clipping her husband’s toenails — yes, in public. The eyebrow-raising video was pretty divisive.
Some fans found it disgusting.
The caption of the clip that’s been circulating on social media reads, “Doing this for a man in public is wild.” Some fans, however, said it would be disgusting even if she wasn’t clipping his toenails in public.
“Doing this for a man in private is also wild…” one person commented.
A second critic simply wrote, “Ewwwww….” while another said, “I’m gonna throw up.”
While some people thought it was ‘nasty,’ others saw no issue with it.
Some people found the video “cute” and said that those who were critical of it were probably just “jealous.”
“yall would be in awe if it was the opposite, spoil your men ladies, don’t listen to these people,” one fan wrote on X.
Another person commented, “God forbid i do something sweet for my future man in public without being called a pickme y’all hate to see a woman in love huh.”
Others were convinced there was more to the story.
While the clip could easily make it look like Alison and Dave were enjoying a picnic date in the park, fans assumed they were actually trying to promote their upcoming movie. In addition to being a married couple in real life, Dave and Alison also portray a couple in a new body horror film called Together, which comes out on July 30.
Many fans believe Alison was purposely “spotted” clipping Dave’s toenails in public to help promote the movie.
“This is def promo for their movie,” one fan wrote on X. “And I am on board lol I love when movie promo gets a lil freaky.”
A second fan argued that there would be no other reason to clip each other’s toenails in public. “This got to be for the new movie cuz why else would they be doing this in public?” the person wrote.
On Reddit, a third fan added, “This is probably staged, and if it’s not, the person filming is a lot weirder than they are.”
