‘Teen Mom’ Ryan Edwards’ Wife Amanda Slammed for ‘Really Disturbing’ Video of Their Baby

Amanda Conner, who is the wife of Teen Mom star Ryan Edwards, recently shared a short video of her baby set to the lyrics of “Pretty & Petty” by Cardi B. What was probably meant to be a humorous video did not land that way at all. In the video, Amanda made a gun gesture with her hands and pointed it at her 7-month-old baby’s head. After pretending to shoot her baby, she seemingly pushed her down onto the bed. Critics didn’t find it funny at all and urged the mom to delete the video.

Her actions in the video matched the song lyrics.

The part of the Cardi B song Amanda used in the video goes like this: “Name five BIA songs, gun pointin’ to your head (Head)/Baow, I’m dead (Grr).” Clearly, Amanda pretended to shoot her baby because of the song’s lyrics — but that still doesn’t explain why she even made this video in the first place. The short clip was pretty controversial, as people could not comprehend why Amanda would want to make content like this.

“As a mother, I COULD NEVER EVER fathom even thinking of making a video like this or thinking it’s funny,” one critic commented. “Really disturbing honestly.”

Some people said that although they have a “dark sense of humor,” Amanda still took it way too far with this video. “This is tooooo much!” another person commented. “Joke or not why would you even want to imply that or think about it?!” A third critic added, “Not funny at all!!!! This is sick!!”

People emphasized that now’s not the time for this kind of ‘joke.’

For many of Amanda’s followers, the video was no laughing matter because gun violence is such a prevalent issue impacting children in the United States. “We can’t be joking like this in these times,” one of her followers warned her. A second person wrote, “Enough kids are dying daily, why play like this?”

Many people found Amanda’s video after Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans called her out for it on TikTok. “Why would you post that, Amanda?” Jenelle said in her video. “People need to start thinking more about what they post.” Jenelle said she wouldn’t post something like that about her child, knowing that her daughter would probably be “heartbroken” if she saw that her mom had posted something like that about her.

Some people did defend Amanda though.

Obviously, a significant number of people took Amanda’s video seriously and told her it was “straight up not okay,” but others argued that it was not that serious. “Get a grip, it’s a song and a joke stop being so sensitive, she is hilarious and a great mom,” one person wrote in Amanda’s defense. A second person argued that the video was really not that deep. “As a British person, we don’t mind a little dark humour, in fact we live for it,” they wrote. “The baby wasn’t hurt, she did it on a bed, the baby wasn’t crying, and she doesn’t understand the lyrics of the song. It’s not [that] deep.”

Amanda and Ryan welcomed their baby girl in February.

Both Amanda and Ryan have children from previous relationships as well. At the beginning of September, the couple revealed that they’re now officially married. After announcing her pregnancy in 2024, Amanda told People that she and Ryan were both “very excited.” At the time, she said, “We have overcome so much in the last year and a half, and we are in a very happy, safe place.”
