After Amy Duggar‘s husband Dillon King faced a major health scare earlier this year, she’s providing an update to her followers on social media. In a post she shared on Instagram over the weekend, Amy revealed Dillon’s latest diagnosis – yet another obstacle the couple is facing as he continues to recover from his previous hospitalization.
Amy revealed that Dillon has been diagnosed with celiac disease.
The former Counting On star took to Instagram to share photos of her and Dillon on a bike ride together, along with an update on her husband’s health.
“He’s been diagnosed with celiac disease, and since changing his diet, he’s finally feeling some relief,” Amy wrote in her caption. “We are still working through the herniated diaphragm and the displacement of multiple organs. There’s still a lot of unknowns at this time. We appreciate all the support and prayers!”
This condition is in addition to the rare diagnosis involving his organs he is facing.
Back in April, Amy shared that Dillon had suffered from a “severe diaphragmatic rupture.”
“Dillon has been diagnosed with a severe diaphragmatic rupture – an extremely rare and dangerous condition that has caused vital organs, including his kidney and parts of his digestive system, to shift into his chest cavity,” Amy told People, adding that his condition remained “critical” at the time.
“Dillon is a fighter – anyone who knows him knows his strength – but even the strongest among us sometimes face battles we never anticipated,” she told the magazine. “We will share more as we’re able, but for now, our focus is on Dillon’s health, our family’s faith, and the fight in front of us.”
Since then, it seems Dillon has been doing a lot better, though it can’t be easy now that he has his celiac disease diagnosis to grapple with as well.
Fans showed their support in the comments.
On Amy’s latest post, fans shared their well-wishes for Dillon and their family in the comments section.
“Glad you got some answers and he’s feeling better. Wishing him all the best,” one person wrote.
Another commenter who knows just what Dillon is going through added, “I have celiac. It’s so overwhelming at first but I promise it gets easier!
Here’s hoping Dillon stays healthy as he adjusts to his new normal.
