One year after Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s daughter Shiloh legally dropped “Pitt” from her name, it seems like she’s made another major change. These days, the 19-year-old is going by something a little different, and her name change was only revealed after she was mentioned in a press release about her latest work project.
Variety was the first to report the news on May 30. Shiloh’s most recent gig included choreographing a dance number at a dinner celebrating the launch of fashion designer Isabel Marant’s new capsule collection in Los Angeles. Shiloh was the brains behind the dance performed by Keoni Rose and Tako Suzuki as musician Luella performed the song “Naïve.”
According to People, a press release about the event credited Shiloh as “Shi Joli” — the first time we’ve heard her use this name.
Apparently, she didn’t hang around at the event very long, though. Variety reported she was there during the cocktail hour before she left to spend time with the dancers who had performed.
Though her new name is news, Shiloh’s love for dance certainly isn’t. As People previously pointed out, Shiloh frequently works with Kolanie Marks, who has shared videos of the teen showing off her moves on his Instagram account.
When Kolanie shared the post of Shiloh, he praised her dedication and authenticity. He noted that though many dancers can’t get past the “intensity” that comes with his classes, she seemed to have no problem hanging in there, even if she did have to stay consistent and keep practicing before she had his dances down.
“I met Shiloh at my Millennium Class and she was going down in FLAMES …. She shouldn’t have been in there! However i saw something that was authentic … she kept coming back and yes still going down and flames!” he wrote. “Not until we started doing private one on ones! Ive spent the most time with her out of anyone im training in LA! Something about doesn’t quit!”
Whatever name she chooses to go by, it’s clear that Shiloh really is leaving a mark on the entertainment world in her own way — and in a totally different space than her mom has chosen for her career.
More from Shi Joli, please!
