At one point, many fans would have believed it was all but guaranteed that Anna Duggar would be waiting for Josh Duggar when he was finally released from prison … but now, it sounds like that may not be a given. Reportedly, Anna is “constantly praying” about what her future will look like — and if a marriage to Josh will even be a part of it.
Anna is 'questioning their future' now.
According to what a source close to the family told In Touch Weekly, Anna is having a hard time coping with the reality of parenting seven children alone these days.
“She took her wedding vows seriously and she wants to stand by her man and all that, but the reality of her situation is very difficult,” the insider said.
She's tried to stay positive, but that's hard to do.
Understandably, raising seven children alone is a challenge she never thought she’d have to rise to while married to Josh, and now, she’s grappling with the fact that it isn’t possible for him to be “physically present” in their family for a long time.
“[She] wants Josh by her side, as a husband and as a father to their children,” the source added.
She's even gone so far as to ask 'leaders of the church' what she should do next.
“Divorce is not something she wants, but she’d be lying if she said she hasn’t questioned her future with Josh,” the source said. “Anna married Josh for better or worse and it can’t get any worse than this.”
Considering that at this point, even some of her own family members have encouraged her to divorce Josh, it seems like if she did decide to go that route, she would have plenty of support behind her.
No one close to her is able to predict what she'll do next.
The source added that “no one but Anna knows what her future holds.”
Given her commitment to Josh — which has never wavered, despite all the scandals he’s been at the center of during their marriage — it wouldn’t be surprising if she stuck with him through this, too. But no one would blame her for walking away from him while he’s behind bars for a decade after being convicted for crimes involving children when she has seven of her own, either.
This new intel comes just days after Anna was spotted visiting Josh.
We have to imagine that trekking back and forth between Arkansas and Texas, where Josh is serving time, has to be tough — especially with so many children in tow — so it’s no wonder Anna’s rethinking her future.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see what she decides …
