Nearly two years after Josh Duggar’s sentencing, it sounds like wife Anna Duggar may be moving on — at least, according to this intel from a source close to the former 19 Kids & Counting family. A day after Josh celebrated his birthday on March 3 and turned 36, some familiar faces reportedly showed up to the prison where he’s serving out his sentence to see him for the occasion, but apparently, Anna Duggar and their children weren’t among them.

Josh Duggar’s family visited him in prison on his birthday.
According to what an insider told OK! Magazine, two family members traveled to Seagoville, Texas, to spend time with Josh, who is behind bars at a federal correctional facility. Both Joseph Duggar (Josh’s younger brother) and his brother-in-law, David Waller, who is married to Anna’s sister, Priscilla, "stayed all day."
It was a low-key visit.
"They looked relaxed and happy. They just shared a couple of snacks and chatted all day," the insider said.
Well, there’s a good chance the men had a lot of catching up to do, given that Josh hasn’t been able to see his family in years. He was arrested in April 2021 on charges of possessing and receiving child sexual assault material and convicted after a jury trial ended in a guilty verdict in December 2021.
A few very important people were missing, though, including Anna Duggar and their kids.
The source said Anna wasn’t one of the people who went to visit Josh, even though she’s been known to visit him quite frequently in the past.
The couple’s children were missing, too — and they’ve also been known to join Anna when she makes the trip to Seagoville. What happened?

This could be a sign that something has shifted between Josh and Anna.
Josh and Anna Duggar have remained close throughout his scandals. The pair showed off their relationship on 17 Kids and Counting, 18 Kids and Counting, and eventually 19 Kids and Counting.
Although Anna has always seemed very committed to Josh, despite his scandals and convictions through the years, we haven’t heard from her publicly in a while, so it’s possible something has changed. Fans have been rooting for her to walk away and leave Josh for good, but as far as we know, she is still living on Michelle and Jim Bob’s compound.
Josh Duggar still has nearly 10 more years left in prison.
A lot can change between now and late 2032, when Josh is set to be released. At that point, nearly all of his kids will be all grown up. Will Anna have made some changes in her own life, too?
All we can do is wait and see how this unfolds, but it’s definitely interesting that Anna didn’t visit Josh Duggar in prison for his birthday.
