Out of both of A$AP Rocky and Rihanna’s sons, each parent has one that’s more similar to them than the other. In their cover story for W Magazine, published on October 8, the 36-year-old rapper opened up about raising children with the 36-year-old singer. The two have been together since 2020, though they’ve known each other for longer. They share 2-year-old RZA and 14-month-old Riot Rose. A$AP says their eldest son is his “twin” while their youngest is “just like his mom.”

RZA is an introvert, while Riot is more extroverted.
“I think Rza is going to keep to himself. He’s an introvert,” the rapper said. “Riot’s an extrovert—he’s just like his mom. Rza is more so like his dad, like me. And he’s my twin. He got his mom’s forehead, but he got everything else from me. I love my boy’s big forehead! I loved it on his mother.”
The two sons share a special bond.
“Riot looks up to Rza,” A$AP shared. “I think Rza’s warming up to Riot.”
The rapper also talked about knowing that he wanted Rihanna to be the mother of his children from a young age. “I knew from when we were younger. We both did, I think. So it was only right when we got older. We just kind of reconnected.”

A$AP says he and Rihanna have a lot of history.
Although many may link Rihanna and A$AP to the moment he grabbed her butt on live television during a performance at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, the rapper says his attraction for her formed before that moment.
“It’s a lot of history between us,” he told the magazine as he recalled them first crossing paths. “I was kicked out of this nightclub. They wasn’t giving me no access to it. This is when I’m just starting out, so nobody knows me. I was with Matthew Williams and Virgil.
“I was getting into it with the bouncers, and she came out,” he continued. “We just locked eyes. She didn’t even know us, but she was like, ‘Yo! Why y’all not letting him in? What’s wrong with you?! Let that man in!’”
He praises her for support.
A$AP praised the support from his “companion, from my woman, from my partner. She knows when to hold it down. I think we both have our niches, our things that we do that we’re good at,” he said. “She could never be a great dad, because she’s a great mom. And I could never be a great mom, because I’m the greatest dad in the whole wide world.”
He enjoys fatherhood.
“I’m such a dad, it’s f—ing hilarious,” he said. “I haven’t been in the gym in weeks. I come home, my kids are already in bed, asleep. I leave, they still asleep.” But fatherhood has really made an impact on him. “That s— changed my swag.”
