Two months after Matt Roloff put his family’s famous property back on the market, there’s more drama about Roloff Farms between two of his daughters-in-law. There have been years of back and forth between the Roloff kids and their dad over this farm, and now that Audrey is saying she still thinks there’s a chance she and Jeremy can “save” it, Isabel is chiming in to let her know that she should probably think again.
It all started with a little Instagram post from Audrey.
While sharing an update on her life in an Instagram post earlier this week, Audrey included a surprising message about Roloff Farms alongside a photo of her and her 2-year-old daughter Mirabella when they went blackberry picking there.
“A couple months ago we had the opportunity to revisit purchasing the farm but we ultimately decided not to,” Audrey wrote. “However, every time we go there, we can’t help but wonder if there is a way to still buy it through some creative means. Not necessarily live on it, but to use it for business, ministry, and/or a place for goodness and beauty to multiply. I still just have this hunch that a God might make a way.”
Now, Isabel is clapping back.
After a fan on TikTok asked her about Audrey’s post about the farm, Isabel — who is married to Matt and Amy’s youngest son, Jacob — did not hold back, admitting that reading her sister-in-law’s words was “incredibly disappointing.”
She wrote, “They have never talked to us about it. We don’t have the money to ‘save’ it but we are here, every day, showing up, working it. We tend to the plants and animals and the land of this place.”
Isabel went on to say that for the past four years, she and Jacob have been trying to “save” the farm themselves, but the money needed to purchase it just isn’t there for them.
“I just get a bad taste in my mouth that they talk about it like they would be the ones to come in and save the day when we’re here, wishing we could find a way to make it work,” she added. “They never asked if we wanted to work together.”
The house has been on and off the market since 2022.
Over the summer, Matt listed it for sale again to the tune of $2.6 million, down from the property’s original $3.4 million asking price.
“We love this farm and are so grateful for all the wonderful family memories it holds,” he told Realtor.com. “The decision to sell the smaller, 16.6-acre farm with the big house reflects where we all are in our lives. Since we’ll stay in the smaller house on the large farm, we’d love for the next owners to be great neighbors.”
Of all of Matt’s kids, Isabel and Jacob seem to be the ones who spend the most time on the farm, so it’s always been a bit baffling that he has never found a way to make it affordable for them to take over.
Or maybe he just doesn’t care about keeping it in the family all that much?
