Some people may be surprised to learn that the Duggar family wasn’t Austin Forsyth’s first introduction to reality TV. The Counting On alum once appeared on a series called World’s Strictest Parents. As the name hints, there weren’t a lot of laughs to be found on the show, but that hasn’t stopped people on Reddit from turning Austin’s appearance into a joke.

Austin came from a smaller but equally religious family.
When he was 15, Austin’s family appeared on the series, which followed the story of how his parents were raising him and his sister. The show documented how the teen’s life more closely resembled that of a farmhand from another era, living a life that was mostly about working hard and following the Bible.
A clip was shared on the popular Duggar Snark subreddit.
A clip of the series was shared on Reddit, explaining how the Forsyth family appeared on the US version of World’s Strictest Parents. There were only two seasons, and they aired on MTV’s sister station CMT.
People had a lot to say about the young Austin and his family.
People joked that Austin was a 'copy paste' of his parents.
The Forsyth genes are definitely strong — both Austin and Joy-Anna’s children look undeniably like him — but it becomes even more apparent when you see the rest of Austin’s family. Redditors pointed out how uncanny it was.
“They’re all secretly Austin in various wigs,” one person joked.
Redditors weren't just laughing about Austin's childhood.
Although there was plenty of snark to go around in the aptly named group — one Redditor called them “copy-paste humans” — some noted how sad the family’s storyline was.
“Love that shot though of sister working in the kitchen and Austin being ‘educated’ at the table,” one person wrote, noting that men are normally given superior educations in families like these. “Says so much right there.”
We wonder if Austin and Joy-Anna bonded a bit over their shared childhood fame.
Even though the Forsyth family never became anywhere near as famous as the Duggars did on 19 Kids and Counting, we have to imagine that Joy-Anna and Austin were able to connect on a different level because they both spent a portion of their childhood on television.
It has to be wild to look back at how far they both have come since their awkward teen years.
