Barack Obama Accidentally Fed the Alien Conspiracy Crowd & Then Had To Clarify

We’re living in such strange times, so why shouldn’t we bring aliens into the mix? Even more, why shouldn’t we try and get some answers from the 44th President of the United States about them? Funnily enough, just after we thought we might have an actual answer, after confirming in a podcast interview that he thinks aliens are real, Barack Obama is clarifying his answer to include a little more nuance. The former president left a comment on a video from the interview with political commentator, Brian Tyler Cohen, that left a little more to the imagination in terms of public debate about whether or not aliens are real.

Barack Obama made quite a statement about aliens on a podcast that got people talking.

During an appearance on Brian Tyler Cohen’s podcast, Barack Obama answered some rapid-fire questions that quickly led to him being asked if aliens were real. “They’re real, but I haven’t seen them, Obama replied.

He did clarify that aliens are not kept in Area 51 and “there’s no underground facility, unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the president of the United States.”

Folks on Reddit were having a field day with this kind of declaration from a former president. One commenter asked, “Did he seriously just say ‘they’re real’ as if it’s nothing?”

Unfortunately, for those who wanted to stop there and live in that reality for a while, there is more to this commentary.

For those who love the idea of aliens, unfortunately, Barack did clarify his former statement on them.

Since his initial response during the rapid-fire question round on the podcast received so much chatter, Barack decided to leave a comment on a video from the interview to try and clarify his position on whether or not aliens are real.

The former president wrote, “I was trying to stick with the spirit of the speed round, but since it’s gotten attention let me clarify. Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good life’s out there.” Okay, so, that’s not a no, right? We can work with that!

Did he see any evidence of them during his presidency though? For real?

In his clarification comment on an Instagram video from the interview, Barack also hits his followers with some good old fashioned probability, which takes us back to math class and isn’t really all that fun. He also stated, “But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low.”

He further clarifies, and perhaps disappoints a large number of alien conspiracy theorists, by saying, “[he] saw no evidence during [his] presidency that extraterrestials have made contact with us. Really!”

Okay, so the former president did admit that he thinks aliens are real, but he’s seen no evidence that they’ve made contact with humans. Is everyone satisfied with that answer?
