Having a minimum of a 12-year age gap with your siblings is not really conducive to a close relationship. Throw in another who isn’t wild about her stepchildren and you have the dynamic between Barron Trump and his siblings that Melania Trump seemingly prefers. That might also be why Barron isn’t seen as much as his older half siblings.
Donald Trump’s kids are from three different wives and baby mamas. He had Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Trump Jr. with first wife Ivana Trump. Then, he welcomed Tiffany Trump with second wife Marla Maples. After he married Melania, the pair welcomed Trump’s youngest child Barron. And, as the youngest kid in the family where his oldest sibling is more than twice his age, it doesn’t make for sibling besties.
Melania Trump isn’t a fan of Barron Trump’s older siblings.
Melania has always been big on Barron cultivating a close relationship with her late mother and, by extension, sticking close to his Slovenian roots. It’s a heritage that Barron’s older brothers and sisters don’t lay claim to in regard to Melania. And, as evidenced in Barron’s iconic “I like my suitcase” meme, he even once had a thick accent as a result of spending so much one-on-one time with Melania or her mother. Now, Barron is reportedly not super close to his siblings.
In one Reddit thread about Barron and his much older siblings, someone claimed, “I grew up in DC and my neighbor played soccer against Barron. They told me that not a single member of that family ever showed up to watch him play. I honestly feel bad for the kid.”
Another user wrote, in reference to Eric, “I wonder if Melania tried to shield Barron from the excesses of his older half-brothers.”
Someone else shared an explanation for another reason why Barron probably isn’t close to his siblings, outside of any potential involvement from Melania. They wrote, v”Baron is less than half his age and the son of his dad’s third wife. They never lived together or spent much meaningful time together the way siblings usually do.”
She allegedly purposely snubbed them for Barron’s 20th birthday party.

According to Rob Shuter’s Substack, Melania purposely made sure that most of Barron’s siblings were not in attendance for his 20th birthday party in 2026. Only Tiffany, who is 12 years older than Barron, was reportedly invited.
An insider reportedly said, “Melania is in charge, and she wanted this to be about Barron — not about Donald Trump, and not about his other children.”
They also said that Melania has always kept Barron at a distance from his brothers and sisters. Because of the age differences, he didn’t even grow up at the same time or in the same house as Eric, Donald Jr., Ivanka, or Tiffany.
“Barron didn’t grow up with them in the same way,” the insider added. “There isn’t a real bond there.”
Melania, it seems, is just fine with that. She even reportedly purposely snubbed Ivanka when she came out with her 2026 documentary. There were rumors at the time of its release that Melania didn’t want Ivanka to be part of the documentary or its world premiere. And that only adds to the belief that Melania wants herself and Barron in their own bubble. Umm … cute, I guess?
On another Reddit post, users shared their general thoughts on Melania seemingly shielding Barron from the spotlight, from his siblings, and from the world in general. It’s a nice thought, but he’s an adult now. It’s a little much at this point.
“Melania is a ghoul who only cares about her own child,” a user commented on the thread. “Despite her disgusting ‘be best’ campaign, no bullying or abuse is acknowledged or condemned by her unless it touches her baby boy.”
Someone else condemned Melania doling out advice as a mom: “I can’t think of a worse person to be giving young mothers advice.”
Eric Trump has felt Mama Melania’s wrath before.
In 2025, RadarOnline reported that Melania, much like Will Smith and Chris Rock, preferred for Eric to keep her son’s name out of his mouth. When Eric spoke about what Barron said to Joe Biden during the inauguration, Melania reportedly clapped back at her stepson. For her, it’s about keeping Barron out of the spotlight, and, given the way the rest of the family is dissected thanks to Daddy Don’s MAGA movement, it makes sense. But it also makes everyone that much more curious about Barron.
