It’s only been a matter of weeks since Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, but their lunch date over the weekend had fans confused about their relationship status. While they were out together with their children in Beverly Hills, the estranged couple looked pretty cozy, but at this point, none of that has changed. J.Lo and Ben plan to “move forward” with their split, despite what a happy family they may have looked like to outsiders.

Ben and Jennifer were spotted together at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
As Page Six reported, the former couple were seen eating lunch with their children on Saturday, though the kids were sitting at a different table from their parents.
“Ben and JLo are currently at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel holding hands and kissing,” a witness told the news outlet.
The family was photographed outside of the hotel, and J.Lo was spotted wearing her engagement ring on her pinky finger.
This isn't a sign they're getting back together, though.
According to what a source told People, this was a “fun lunch” for everyone to spend time together — not a romantic reunion for Ben and J.Lo.
“They all came together for a fun lunch so the kids could hang out,” the source said. “[Jennifer’s] trying to be friendly with Ben. They are still moving forward with the divorce though. They are working out financial details amicably.”
Maybe this is for the best?
Right now, their kids are their priority.
“A divorce is never easy, but Jennifer doesn’t want to be selfish about it,” the source added. “The kids always got along and have fun together. It makes her happy seeing the kids happy together. Happy kids are her priority.”
In the end, that truly is all that matters.

Jen and Ben's children have become close.
The transition period can be a tough one for a new blended family, but since some of Ben and J.Lo’s kids are similarly aged, they seemed to have no trouble hitting it off. On multiple occasions over the last few years, their kids have been spotted out and about together — with and without their parents. In fact, last year, Ben’s ex, Jennifer Garner, was seen at Disneyland with her kid, Fin, and J.Lo’s kid, Emme. It’s good to see that they’re all still able to hang out together, even if their parents are ending their marriage.
J.Lo filed for divorce on August 20.
After months of speculation that she and Ben were on the outs, the news was confirmed when J.Lo filed the official paperwork last month. In documents obtained by People, the singer listed April 26, 2024, as their date of separation, which was less than two years after they tied the knot.
Hopefully, their split will continue to be an amicable one — especially for their kids’ sake.
