Sunday night's Grammy's celebration may have been heavily attended by some of the biggest names in music, but viewers couldn't help but focus on a disgruntled Ben Affleck. The Batman star was sitting in one of the most coveted seats in the house, but he looked like he'd rather be just about anywhere else, prompting a whole new round of sad Ben Affleck memes online.
Ben and wife Jennifer Lopez were seated in the front row during the televised event.
The pair were front and center for all of the musical acts (and some of the comedy bits) that the 2023 Grammys had to offer, which is how Ben ended up spending so much time on screen despite not being a musician.
It seemed like every time the camera panned to him, Ben was looking more and more annoyed with the celebration going on around him.
People took to Twitter to share their funniest takes about Ben's face.
Plenty of people suggested that the Good Will Hunting star was likely jonesing for a smoke and his favorite beverage.
"Someone get Ben Affleck a cigarette and a Dunkin coffee stat," one person tweeted.
Another thought his unhappiness looked more like sadness. "Why does Ben Affleck always look like he's 10 minutes away from crying during a much-needed smoke break," the person asked.
His reaction was reminiscent of another photo of him.
Of course, plenty of people had to bring back up the photo of a clearly exhausted Ben taking that hilariously dramatic smoke break that so many of the tweets referenced, with some guessing that he was in a hurry to step outside.
"Why is Ben Affleck's face like that," someone asked of his scowling mug. "Never seen a man with more of an Existential Dread Resting Face than Ben Affleck."
There were a few people who felt sorry for him.
It may be hard to feel bad for a man who just can't seem to enjoy one of the biggest live musical events of the year, but there were some who could sympathize with him.
"Ben Affleck is every introvert everywhere," one person wrote. "You can see his batteries draining in real time. Man is already at 23 percent."
Hopefully this isn't a sign that there's trouble in paradise.
Some people on Twitter suggested that he and J.Lo might've been fighting on the way over, hence his sour disposition.
We'd hate to think that's what's going on, considering the lovebirds haven't even been married for a year yet. Hopefully this is just a case of a husband not wanting to go to his wife's "work thing" on his day off and not a sign of a bigger problem between Ben and Jen.
