Amid rumors that Ben Affleck is interested in getting back together with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, he has opened up about the nature of their relationship. At the beginning of March, Ben and Jennifer were spotted getting cozy during their son’s birthday celebration. Given that they have a good co-parenting relationship, the fact that they went to a paintball park together for their son’s birthday is not surprising. However, the way in which Ben grabbed his ex-wife during the outing seemed quite affectionate, leading some people to suspect that he was interested in rekindling the romance.
Ben says his ex-wife is ‘wonderful.’
During a recent interview with GQ, Ben spoke highly of Jennifer, who he was married to for a decade. The exes share three children and continue to have a good relationship with each other.
“I’m really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner, the kids’ mom, who’s wonderful and great and we work together well,” Ben said of his ex-wife.
Recently, the exes sparked romance rumors.
After the photos of Ben and Jennifer getting cozy with each other went viral, rumors about their relationship began circulating. One Page Six source claimed that Ben “would definitely be open to giving things another shot with Jen if the timing is ever right.” Another insider later told the outlet that Jennifer’s boyfriend, John Miller, didn’t love the affectionate photos of his girlfriend and her ex-husband, finding them “disrespectful to their relationship.”
Meanwhile, another source suggested that Ben and Jennifer merely maintain a “strong friendship” and good co-parenting relationship after their divorce. The source told Us Weekly that Jennifer has been “a grounding and trusting force in Ben’s life,” especially after his more recent divorce, and they’ve only been spending more time together lately because Ben is focusing on his kids.
In reality, Ben’s life is pretty boring.
When speaking with GQ, Ben addressed the frequent tabloid coverage of his love life. After finalizing his divorce from Jennifer Garner in 2018, Ben later married Jennifer Lopez, but they divorced two years later. Both of these marriages have made headlines on numerous occasions, but Ben told GQ that his “life is actually pretty drama-free.”
In fact, if people listened to him explain what actually happened, they would probably find it pretty boring, he suggested. “For all the sensational stuff that gets written, if somebody sat down and talked to me about it, and I said, ‘Well, this is really the experience,’ their eyes would glaze over with boredom,” he told GQ.
He also addressed his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
Ben acknowledged how his life might not seem “drama-free” given that he’s recently divorced. Even though Ben’s split from J.Lo led to a lot of rumors about what exactly went wrong, Ben said that getting divorced is “pretty adult” and not unusual.
“I’m sure in your mind you’re thinking, ‘Oh, well, you just got divorced. That’s not drama-free,'” he told GQ. “And I understand that instinct, but all of this is pretty adult.”
